My wife and I were wanting to get away for a weekend, we were running late and had phone the owners about our circumstances since we left the VA Hospital later in the day. She called my wife's phone at.6:45 and asking where we were, my told we would be a little late, the lady was rude and explained the gates close at 7:00pm. They refused to keep the gates open for 15 mins for a disabled vet. I can not recommend this camp ground, rude owners.

A beautiful spot w/ nice facilities, but our trip never got started. We were looking for a campground w/ a take out for our canoes. While trying to register, we were approached by the rudest woman I have ever dealt with in a golf cart. She seemed very offended that we were there are at all, and made mocking voices and gestures when we tried to ask about tent camping and river access. There's another campground w/ river access on the Woodford County side that is friendly to paddlers.

We loved our camping experience in Oct. The campground is pristine and owned by 2 wonderful people. They are friendly, helpful and take pristine care of the campground. The serenity of hearing the waterfall all day long is not found anywhere else. The campground is located close to a lot of attractions. Will return again. Thank you for sharing your property with us.

We drove down a winding, narrow road for several miles wondering what we would find at the end .... Hoping it would be worth it! What a beautiful hidden treasure we found at the edge of the Kentucky River! The proprietors welcomed us with enthusiasm and made us feel as though we could call upon them for any need we might have. Recommend highly to those who are looking for a quiet spot off the beaten path!

Not pet friendly at all! Sites are very narrow and curved so there is no way to keep a big fifth wheel out of the grass! Very un level! Bring lots of blocking for front landing legs. 75%+ full timers and long term contractors get the outside shaded spots. Be prepared for lots of contractors big trucks firing up at 5:30 am to go to work. Short term sites are in the middle and "NO" shade at all. Being down in the river valley no breeze. They charge $0.15 per KW for monthlies when other campgrounds in the area charge $0.10 per KW. The woman owner has to be Bi-Polar, sweet one minute and dog and grass Nazi the next minute! Horribly nasty lady. Came flying over to me on her broomstick (golf cart) and started hollering about my dog being on a leash and she just didn't see it being thin and dark colored. "Dog area" is a 3/8 mile walk one way. Farther if your deep into the park. It's 15 miles off the main highway... 20 minutes to a town.... Seriously, just stay away! We were going to stay for a month but decided to leave after 3 days....no 4 wheelers or RZr's, off-road vehicles of any kind. Claim that their Insurance doesn't allow them. Even if legally licensed, registered, and insured in your home state.
