After a slight hiccup on my part, we settled into the Hotel for the night. Accommodation was great. But the food downstairs in the pub area was excellent. Hats off to the chef. The food was excellent. On top of that the service and knowledge of the area by Ian was so valuable. Definitely worth stopping here.

We were part of a group that enjoyed an unexpected fine dining experience at the renovated dining room, Sass. Our host David provided impeccable service that was low
key, attentive and perfectly timed and as for the food...my goodness, it was exceptional!
A number of us had 'best I've ever tasted' moments, specifically for the eye fillets & the venison pithivier. Round of applause to the chef.
Don't let the distance put you off, dining at the Kermandie Sass is worth the drive.

Both my partner and I enjoyed our meals and thought they were well priced. I had steak with veggies, perfectly cooked on all counts. My partner had the pork roll with coleslaw - generous portion and again well priced. Busy little pub and we found the staff very friendly and efficient.

An unexpected stay for us due to a fall over of another booking.com reservation. All worked well for everybody concerned and we were pleasantly surprised at our stay at "the local". Bed and private facilities were more than adequate, and the bonus was the restaurant Sass. View out over the marina and river. This is an old hotel that has retained a lot of the historical, in addition to being decorated in a modern contemporary manner.Pity about truck rest stop over road, but no real disturbance.

Long review but worth the read. Hotel is newly renovated in a colonial/romantic style of past era. All furnishings are new but kept in style with the hotel, well decorated and makes you feel comfortable in summer or winter with options of warming up in frontof the fires. Great views of the Huon river frim almost every room. Accommodation was great, very comfortable bed with nice bed linen, rooms kept in traditional style, ensuite bathroom finished off in modern style for all thoses comforts needed. Food - bar area we found these meals would rival the quality and style you would find in any restaurant whislt pricing still at pub meal price. The attached restaurant SASS had an extensive menu and was fully booked. From what we saw and heard the food was exceptional. No wonder the restaurant was full with food like that. For breakfast it was continental style which was self serve (great views), only negative thing to say, at breakfast it would have been nice to have some fresh fruit which is grown in the area. Staff were pleasant, helpful and attentive to our needs. Would book again.
