I went to Windy Corner this evening for the second time this evening and was extremely pleased for a second time. I order the hamburger with white cheddar and fries. It was excellent. The "special sauce" was great. All members of my party enjoyed their food, from the chicken salad to the po boys. I love the entire experience from the scenic drive to the delicious food at this charming restaurant off the beating path.

The setting is in the magical horse country. It just helps the experience feel more fun. The food is very good. Every dish is hand made and extremely fresh.

This is a hidden gem, with great food and a better menu and hours than its sister restaurant, Wallace Station, near Midway. I would love to give it Five stars, and really should give it Three, based on four visits over the past month. A dinner for four was excellent in all respects - food, atmosphere, service, etc. A breakfast visit a few days later with a friend was somewhat disappointing - the food was nothing special - the country ham in particular disappointing, and the entire meal was served lukewarm, at best. Since we were the only two customers, this was unexpected. Again, though, great atmosphere can overcome a lot. A late afternoon visit for dessert and coffee was the most disappointing visit. After a lunch (elsewhere) of cajun food, my wife and I wanted another shot of the beignets with bourbon sauce we had at the earlier dinner visit. Alas, they were out. Perhaps understandable, in mid-afternoon, and they graciously offered to substitute any other dessert offering (in fact, they offered two offerings, but we chose one piece of excellent cheesecake). However, in an hour we could not get a decent cup of coffee. The self-serve containers were empty, and it took forever to get them refilled. This is mid-day, with a steady stream of customers coming in. These are the little things that make you hesitant to return to some places. But no doubt we will give Windy Corner more than one more chance - it is that good.

Love this place! Delicious, healthy options are offered- including yummy soups and salads-- but don't miss out on the outrageously good fried oysters (offered in a poorboy sandwich, atop a salad or in a basket)
Also their desserts are heavenly.
Nice selection of beer and wine.
Gorgeous drive to the restaurant especially if you go via the Paris Pike/ Muir Station route.

This country store turned dining venue is well worth the trip up State route 1973. It is nothing fancy with most dishes of the BBQ or Po Boy variety with lots of sides available. What makes it special are the fresh, local ingredients that the owners take great pains to provide. If you are tired of the fern-bar chain restaurants the check this out. I predict when the weather turns nice this place will be packed.
