Description: The Tulip Bistro + Bar is a small treasure in the Chevy Chase Neighborhood. Chef Spencer van den Dool has worked in fantastic local restaurants such as Pacific Pearl and Emmett"s before going to Holland and working at a 2 michelin star restaurant called De Kastanjehof, where he fine tuned his French-American cuisine. The menu offers such things as Mussels, Fish and Chips to Shrimp & Linguine & Short Ribs. There is something for everyone! Our wine list covers most of the world, while our martini list features old and new favorites, such as Tulip Margatini, Blue Goose and The Grand Cosmo. The Tulip will impress you and have you making a reservation for your next visit.

We had reservations for a party of 8 and were seated at our table immediately. The waitress was quick to take our beverage orders and tell us of the specials. She joked with us and promptly took our orders. All but 2 in our group ordered different entrees' and everything was cooked to order and very flavorful. I think you could order anything from their menu and be satisfied. The only reason for 4 stars is because the price was a little high for the portion sizes.

This had been one of out favorite local places. But, last night the service was beyond terrible. We waited 30 min for a drink, another 15 before we could even put in an appetizer order...and this theme continued throughout the meal. The topper was, as we were finishing our meal, we heard another server telling customers about the specials. Specials? This was the the first we hadheard of them! Really ridiculous. Great food can make up for sub par service to a point, but nothing can make up for service this bad.

The waitress was fantastic and made sure we truly enjoyed our food. The oysters were fantastic! I also loved the shrimp and chorizo tostadas. Best dinner experience I've had in awhile.

Sat immediately. Wasn't busy. Wait time for drinks and food was ridiculous. 1 server and 3 runners. We were visiting but would not return.

I went there for appetizers. Wine was good but food was just so so. The atmosphere was a little disappointing. Very small.
