This wonderful house is full of history. For five dollars you can walk through the entire house. Lots of artifacts and history. The mannequins were just a little creepy. They have camera's set up to catch the paranormal activity in the house. You can stay as long or as short you want. The grounds are nice to see too. The summer kitchen, family gravesite and slave graveyard. Worth the time.

I stumbled across this unique house by accident. It has a fascinating story. It is in process of getting going - but it has a ways to go.

First Suggestion - de clutter the furnishings.

2nd Suggestion - the lady inside who works there - smokes in the house. Take it outside.

I meant to stop and had been following signs. I was past it before I saw it and decided to keep going as it looked run down. Might be a good stop but I won't' know this trip.

Such a remarkable experience to visit such a unique and historic piece of history. Curators love visitors and will chat about the history and or hauntings as long as you will listen, lol! I had trouble walking away because they were so informative and very friendly. Could use a little more organization and decluttering but is packed with interesting pieces. I was fortunate enough to pick up on what appeared to be a high pitched female moan which was heard by the curators as well as myself. No special equipment, just the naked ear. This was during close to mid-day also. Also picked up what sounds like several short screams on voice recorder. I plan a return trip in the near future!!

My family and I thought it was well worth the stop. Tons of history and a beautiful home, still in the process of restoration. The caretaker was very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour is self guided, after the initial history of the house is given in the parlor.
I would not recomend if you can't do steps or have trouble on uneven surfaces, the brick pavers on the grounds are original.
