Sure, it's a little kitschy...how could it not be? After all, it's in the U.S...Kitsch Central. But the place has a great vibe, they offer a few somewhat authentic dishes, and, unlike the obnoxious Tilted Kilt, it has class.
My wife and I weren't terribly hungry, so we decided to split an order of Shepherd's Pie. When the waitress brought it out, she had had the kitchen split it into two different portions on two different plates. Well done, indeed. That's the sign of someone who has their customer's best interest in mind.
The food was very good. It was piping hot, tasty and pretty spot on the stuff you'd get in Ireland. And the Guinness was cold....which is probably the most important part of the entire meal!
As a side note, before the food came out, I surprised my wife with a trip to Ireland for our anniversary.....the setting was just right.
