My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Marriott on the river! The location of the hotel is nice with a riverwalk nearby that goes over to Newport, KY and Cincinnati, OH. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were clean. The rooms could use some updating, but overall, we were very pleased. Especially for the price! The view of the Ohio river from our room was very nice and the fact that you can park your own car for only 10 bucks in a garage attached to the hotel was very convenient. The staff we encountered were all very pleasant. We will stay here again!

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view of the river. Cincinnati is beautiful to see at night!

This is a 20 year hotel that looks 40. Location is decent, but the rooms are not much better than a Motel 6 in terms of age and wear. They were clean (I think), though. The structure is built like an Embassy Suites with the big courtyard in the middle, but they say it never was an Embassy Suites. This hotel is in desperate need of a makeover.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else

We were booked at this hotel via Priceline and upon check it was obvious the location was nearly empty and outdated. Our room was on the 11th floor, and as soon as the elevators opened I thought there had to be a mistake. The floors were taped off and covered in plastic. There were shop vacs out in the walkways and the walls were being sanded and redone. Our room was right next to the construction being done and we had the pleasure of listening to the shop vacs running right outside of our room. I don't have an issue with the remodeling, but I'm at a loss as to why we were put in a room right in the middle of it when it was clear there were plenty of other rooms that were open that were away from the work being done. Lesson learned, no more Priceline or Marriott stays for us.

We booked through a 3rd party and were a bit nervous after reading you will be put in an a/c view room...no way. This hotel has an amazing friendly staff that made my kids feel like royalty. Our room overlooked the water and the bridges...the morning sunset was amazing. My coffee pot wasn't working and when I called down for another she kindly offered, "How about a fresh pot already brewed on the house?" Are you kidding me...yum! Took it downstairs and had delcious hot coffee while the kids rolled down the hill beside the water, the murals are beautiful. The staff can and will answer any questions...so much walking distance, we enjoyed Molly Malones for dinner...so delicious. The pool is a 3 elevator hike...but with gorgeous clear elevators it was like an adventure ride for the kiddos. Can't say enough...wonderful stay. We will be back! The zoo and newport aquarium were great..but the hotel is what the kids are raving about!

Room Tip: go for the water view..us was called "partial view" but it was an amazing view!

The hotel is in a ok location, please note the rooms are REALLY dated and very musty. The staff was very nice, the lounge food was below average for Marriott. Overall I would not stay here again unless you want a hotel on par with most Wyndham Hotels (yes I am talking about a super 8 hotel)
