We took a four day trip, from Mumbai to Cochin and ended up here. Overall impression was excellent. The property is well maintained and clean. You are on a lake or inland waterway, not the ocean, but the pool is lovely and the views are great. Don't expect ocean waves one breezes. There are several restaurant choices and even the Mexican one was not bad, which is something for me to say, as a Mexican food critic from America. We normally underuse our hotel property but due to a general strike we found ourselves campus bound for several days, We would go back and we did enjoy it.

Room Tip: Go for the lakeside rooms.

The Resort was Simply Superb. It gave us an Awesome Feeling. The location is little further, but a nice & quieter one. The warm welcome & excellent service at the Check-in counter needs to be appreciated. The rooms are comfortable & gave a Classy Feeling. The Swimming Pool is the one, which gave me a Great Satisfaction, since it made My Son Much Much Happier. It was well built & maintained hygienic.
The Breakfast was not so bad. The Dinner Buffet was offering some wonderful varieties, even though it's priced little higher.
Over all, it gave us a Wonderful Stay.

Want to rest in modern, western style resort in Kochi away from the noisy streets? Then this is your place. I'f you want to experience genuine India, you won't find it from here.

We spend one night in this resort after a tour in the Kerala mountain area. We knew what to expect: luxury. Ramada Resort was a bit expensive and far away from the city, but excellent choice if your looking for a state-of-the-art resort.

We participated to a Valentines day -dinner, which exceeded our expectations.

pros:
- modern & clean
- good english speaking staff
- very nice pool area
- excellent rooms!

cons:
- closed resort behind fences. I´f youre looking for authentic India, you wont find it here.
- A bit far away from the city
- Expensive in Indian scale. Example aurvedic massage costs 3-4 times more than elsewhere.

Stayed at this hotel 3 nights. About 10 kilometers from Kochi but in a quiter location. Excellent service at Check In desk, room service, restaurant. Excellent views of the lake from the swimming pool which in it self is set in very good position facing the lake. Rooms are are decent size with all facilities. Good comfy beds and extensive breakfast and dinner menus. Cant fault at all. Slight problem one evening with the buffet dinner but this was quickly sorted out by the manager to our satisfaction. All staff were excellent and nothing was too much for them. Good security. If you are in Kochi please book this hotel away from the city traffic and noise. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Choose rooms/cottages facing the pool and the lake.

Me & my husband have just checked into the Ramada after many days travelling south india on the road and terrible '4-star' hotels. We were looking forward as Ramada came highly recommended. An online hotel booking site messed up the 1st nite and there were no rooms so they put us up in a sister hotel. They were prompt in moving us back to the Ramada in the morning and ALL staff were ever so apologetic! The General Manager Mr Suresh went out of his way to meet us personally, apologize and continued to surprise us by upgrading our room, throwing in bfast and offering us so much more beyond our expectations! We are so touched and grateful toward their sincerity never ending service with a smile... We travel widely and we have never come across anyone who'd take hospitality to this level. Thanks to mr suresh and his team, we will now spend our honeymoon, valentine's day and the rest of our holiday in the most perfect place in Kochi. Thank u Ramada for givin us a piece of heaven!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Feel the silence of the shores Ramada Resort is a poem. Written on the banks of a tranquil lake. You find the island of silence just 17 km from Kochi, Kerala's metropolis, and 2 km from a busy national highway. The Kumbalam backwaters is part of the famed Vembanad Lake. As the gates open, a sudden change in landscape, a riot of greenery, and silence, greet you. A harmonious mix of exhibitive desert trees and the natural flora of Kerala instil in you the same feeling you experience while watching your child take its first steps: excitement! Pass through the front office that exudes the Keralan hospitality, laced with the professionalism of Ramada, and walk into one of those 24 pool-facing villas. The long walk itself is a refreshing change, compared with boxing oneself into the usual elevator. The greenery soothes the nerves of even a weary traveller. You have started experiencing the space. And silence. Oh! Its space everywhere. Spread across 7 acres of land, Ramada Resort has only 42 living spaces. You would perhaps enjoy the largest per capita space on a resort in Kerala! Before stepping into your room, you find the ground floor is just floor, and not a room! Your kids may want to stay back and play. Let them, and you allow yourself into your cottage. In the super luxury of the room, you will come across the best amenities. Open the glass door and step into the balcony. The meandering pool stretches itself to 110 metres in front of you. Its waters almost touch the lake, which touches the eastern horizon for sure. The enormous expanse of the backwater, lined with coconut trees, will make you feel the thrill of floating freely on a ship's deck, a la Jack and Rose. It's a play of water, mixed with serenity. You feel engulfed by infinity. Almost. In the morning, the sun rising from across the waters will greet you on the balcony. You may feel like doing a sun-salutation, the most beneficial yoga posture. The fisherman in his canoe rowing against the myriad hues of morning sun will be a picture postcard scene that reminds you of the painting competition in your school days. In the evening, the reflections of the setting sun on the serene waters would take you to the empire of silence. The water, layers and layers of it, may tempt you to try some water therapy. Walk into the spa, Kerala's largest. It offers more than 25 varieties of herbal and western massages. Treat yourself to foot reflexology and leave the seat with every organ in your body relaxed. Or try Thai massage. Or Balinese. Treat your senses to the aroma of freshly fried seafood. With your stomach directing you towards the restaurant, the turn in the corridor next to it opens up suddenly into an empty expanse of greenery. The deja vu feeling of having one's own extra space suddenly overpowers the unassuming traveller. It takes some time to adjust to this heavenly feeling and finally when lunch is served, you realise even time has no boundaries in this part of the world and stands still. ... more   less
