“Peaceful location with great food”

Stayed for three nights in the Villa and really enjoyed our time. The food cooked by Sow was excellent such that we never sought to venture away from the property for meals - we would call in again just for the food alone! The staff working at the onsite Whale Bar were friendly and helpful which made our time there relaxing. The Villa is a perfect location if you want to experience Krabi but away from the main town / big tourist resorts - the isolation makes the trip relaxing.
The Villa is well appointed and comfortable.
Peter met us and provided the top tips of things to do - we would recommend the sea kayaking which can be arranged through the Villa - go early and you can be the first on the water to experience the canyon and mangroves in splendid isolation.
We enjoyed our time there so much that we would all visit again.

Liked least: Power outages - not the fault of the Villa - they occured across Krabi! But staff got onsite generator working so that helped!

“Fantastically Relaxing”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Khaotong Villa. Sitting directly
besides a private beach and enjoying panoramic sea views, the villa is in a perfect
location for a very relaxing getaway.
The authentic Thai cuisine was delicious and their fish was some of best we have
ever had. Staff were always on hand and did their utmost to make our stay enjoyable.
One regret was we never met Peter. He was on holiday!
Thanks to all the staff for a great week.

“Friendly, relaxed, charming - a total get away from it all holiday”

Our house was lovely - a/c in every bedroom, maid service most days, fully equipped European kitchen - two baths (unusual for Thailand!), fantastic balcony off the master bedroom, and very homely. The house was stocked (and re-stocked) with drinking water, which was a lovely touch. Our house was one of 5 on site - 2 larger ones, 1 medium and 2 small bungalows. The pool is long enough to swim properly, but not huge if all the houses are full (we have had it mostly to ourselves and it has felt a real luxury), and very well maintained (cleaned every morning). The Whale Bar serves delicious local food - produced by one lovely lady on a single wok. Dunno how she does it!! The setting is beautiful, with the famous karst, jungle covered rocks dotting the seascape, however for those who only want to swim in the sea, it should be noted that when the tide is low, the beach is exposed for at least 300/400 metres. Apparently the exposed beach is good for collecting clams (which the staff will cook for you), but we didn't explore this with our 2 year old. This is not a holiday for those looking for a variety of beach bars and nightlife, however for a family or group of friends who want to relax in a low key setting, and get away from it all (although they do have wifi!), we cannot recommend this villa highly enough.

“Lovely villa in a lovely location”

This villa is set in an exquisite location by the beach. there are two other bungalows within the area which may or may not have guests staying. If so in our experience they only added to the fun. There is a beach bar about 30 yards from the villa serving the guests plus any other people dropping in from the beach but it is not a busy place, you have it more or less to yourself most of the time.
Peter and his wife Oi, the owners really look after you. Peter's choice of Oz rock music in the evenings is an acquired taste but he let us take over with some mellow sounds very graciously. Their daughter Ali (9) is a lovely child if you have kids she is very friendly.
The food served in the beach bar is exquisite and inexpensive Thai cuisine, sensational even but you may have to ask them to throttle back on the chilli!
You are 40 mins away from Krabi which i counted as a bonus but it does mean that you have to borrow/hire Pete's "Ute" (utility vehicle). My son is a wiz on using his phone's sat-nav and this came in very useful.
Peter organised long-tail boats to take us out to the islands for a day and down the coast for an evening meal out in a posh hotel. It was a shock to get back to international prices.
There is a Thai masseur on hand all day and I highly recommend her treatment. the massage table is set under the trees right by the beach so indulge yourself because you would pay 10 times the cost in the UK.
The swimming pool is a treat and at 15 meters you can put some lengths in if you want or simply cool down or play.
It is a quiet place and there is not a lot of action around, if that suits you then this place is perfect.

“Great place for a family”

We stayed here with our 1 year old for a month and had various friends, family and kids come visit while we are here. It's a great peaceful place away from the strip mall atmosphere of Ao Nang. There was always staff on the facility and though there were some language barriers, they were always happy to help. There is a small restaurant on the premises and also a full kitchen. We had a rental car and I would recommend that for exploring the area. The owners arranged for masseurs to come to the house so we could enjoy beachfront massages at our leisure. We took several boat trips and enjoyed snorkelling and fishing. The pool was great for us and the kids. It felt like our very own, private paradise!
