Seeing these horses on my early morning walk was quite delightful. Each one is unique and quite colorful.
The wild Dala horse herd is one of the 100s of fun Swedish pieces of Lindsborg. Each horse standing about five feet tall, there are probably 50 of them scattered around town. Local artists have painted them so that each is unique.
Lindsborg has done an outstanding job of capitalizing on its Scandinavian heritage. The town is immaculately clean, and lovely. There are several restaurants serving delicious Scandinavian cuisine. The locals are friendly, welcoming and proud of their heritage. Lindsborg is a wonderful treasure to discover off the beaten path in Kansas!
Each with their own unique designs and hoping to have their picture taken. And it is ft for the viewing.
Lindsborg is the cutest town! The horses add so much charm and character. My kids loved finding the horses and reading their names. This makes the perfect, inexpensive day: walking around looking at the Dala horses, eating some delicious pastries, and enjoying a friendly, beautiful town.
The Dala Herd in downtown Lindsborg adds to this quaint and charming little Swedish town. I love this town and always try to stop when traveling through Kansas. It is a nice diversion off I35. There are several small shops and little restaurants and you get a real sense of the pioneer Swedish spirit here. They even have Swedish music playing along the street through loudspeakers.
Had a great time walking thru town and stopping in small shops. Looking at 35 Dala horses throughout town and went on wild wide on quadricycles. Lovely visit, would like to come back.
