“Birthday Bash at Mi Pueblo”

Mi Pueblo Real Bar & Grill

My wife and I had always enjoyed Mi Pueblo and she elected to have her birthday party there. We had a very large crowd of almost 35 when we only planned on 25-30, so we did put them in a tough spot. Our waiter, Jose, ran his tail off but he really needed someone else with him full time instead of the part time help he got. Therefore it took too long to get everyone drinks then start on food orders. The bad part was that about 6 of the guest got their order and then there wasn't any other food brought to the table for about 15 mins. The kitchen really miss managed the orders, Too bad as most everyone I talked to enjoyed their food.

Mens restroom was filthy and had no soap.
We ordered coffee with cream and were told by the server that he could make coffee, but they don't have cream. So, we ordered a glass of milk, which is something they did have. (Since this was essentially a truck stop just off the highway and surrounded by motels, we expected that we weren't the first people to ever order coffee with cream. And, there was a container of sugar and sugar substitutes on the table.)
The coffee tasted like dish soap.
Food was okay, though the tamale was inedible.
The person behind us was impatiently waiting for his bill and we sent our server to him.
When we went the the register to pay, no one came to the counter, even though we rang the bell for that purpose.
Soon, people from several other tables were lined up behind us. We rang the counter bell several times but we were all ignored.
We came up with the precise amount, left it on the counter and left - as did most of the people behind us.
Summary: dirty bathrooms, no soap (except in the coffee), mediocre food, and horrible service.

I have ate at several Mexican restaurants in the area and Mi Pueblo is by far my favorite. They always seem to be busy but still give good service.

It took a while to be seated. The restaurant was not busy, but it appeared they were short staffed. The waitress/hostess appeared to be the only one working the front floor area.

The chips and salsa were really good.

We shared a Texas Fajitas for 2 and it was enough food for at least 3-4 people. We could not eat it all.

The meat in the fajitas was moist and tender and it also came with fajita set ups and beans and rice.

We would highly recommend the Texas Fajitas!!
