This was our first experience of staying in a self-catering villa on a tropical island.
We were absolutely delighted with the accommodation, the location so close to the beach and the tranquillity of the area surrounding the villas.

This is a family run operation and they have around 14 villas, built in pairs but well separated.

The accommodation consists of a covered veranda with table and 4 chairs, front door into lounge / kitchen - all well furnished and equipped. The kitchen has a big fridge-freezer, cooker, kettle and toaster. Plenty of crockery and cutlery and cooking utensils. There is a table and chairs for eating inside and chairs and a settee in the lounge with small tables. Lighting was good everywhere.

The bedroom at the back is air conditioned and has an en-suite bathroom with shower. There is plenty of storage space. Very comfortable king size bed. There is a safe in the wardrobe. Everything was well decorated, fresh and modern. The villa was serviced by friendly staff each morning. All linen is provided, of course.

The villas are surrounded by well-kept gardens with a grassy area in front leading down to the beach which is only about 20 meters away. There are numerous trees of different varieties - we suggested it would be good to have a leaflet with photos of each variety and the name of that tree - for us most of the trees were new to our experience.

Each villa has its own sun loungers, which we used every day for breakfast and to relax between relaxing……

The beach is wonderful - lovely white sand and mostly very calm water (the bay is protected by a reef.
And, of course, traditional palm trees bending over the beach to provide shade.

Once you leave the beach area, to go out for a swim, it is advantageous to wear water shoes because there are many small rocks which can be uncomfortable to walk on. I managed to buy a pair of water shoes locally and my wife happened to have brought some with her. The advantage of these rocks is that there were numerous fish surrounding us when we ventured out into the deeper water - at low tide you can wade out quite a long way towards the reef. Other guests were snorkelling and the best area was close to the reef, we were told.

There are showers at the top of the beach to wash off salt water and sand before returning to the villa.

The family and all staff are friendly and welcoming. Whoever was on duty in the office was helpful and had useful advice about restaurants, places to visit and beaches on the island. Whilst we were there we celebrated out 53rd wedding anniversary and staff decorated the bed with flowers and we were given a card signed by everyone - what a delightful touch.

We were so glad that we found this place - and that it is located in the southern part of the island - an easy run down from the airport. The northern part of Mahé is built up and overcrowded by comparison and a holiday based in that area would not be to our taste. This was close to perfection. There was good restaurants within a short drive and several small supermarkets which stocked everything we needed for the meals we prepared in the villa.

Having a car was a definite advantage. There is a regular bus service until mid evening, but in order to explore the island and visit out of the way beaches and attractions a car is essential. Taxis are an option, but (we were told) are fairly expensive. Driving on the narrow roads - especially those going up over the mountain to the other side of the island - was a challenge, but manageable with care. We were glad we had rented a small car.

Staying at Villas d'Anse Forbans has been one of our best holidays ever - if we return to Mahé (very likely) we know where we will stay.

Thank you to everyone there for making our visit so special.

These beautiful family run chalets are directly on the beach. The beach itself is not great for swimming but it is lovely to be able to sit on the verandah and watch the ocean or walk on the beach. It is also a very private beach, so we often found that we were the only ones there.

The chalets are spotlessly clean, nicely furnished and modern. Each chalet has it's own sunbeds out the front on the lawn. The owners are super friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed coming back here every day after touring the island. We'd love to return to Mahe and would definitely stay here again.

The chalets are located a short drive from the airport and are easy to find.

The hotel rooms are right in front of the beach. It is clean and quiet. This place is suitable for getaway from stress and chaos. During low tide, you can do snorkeling and there are many beautiful fishes, corals and even seahorses.

There is a local supermarket which provides just essentials. The others must be reached by car or bus.

We enjoyed and were relaxed. Wish we could stay longer. There is only one thing that we don't like that turtles are kept in small fence. We prefer to see them run free. There are other guests might like to see them like that but it just kind of ruin our atmosphere every time we see them in there.

Dear Tata T
Thank you for your lovely review and we are thrilled you enjoyed your stay with us and just relaxed and unwound from daily stress. We, certainly, do hope you will return for a longer stay in the near future. As explained the tortoises are mostly rescue animals that an animal group requested us to look after but now we have approached a well known animal sanctuary to take them and allow them to roam freely. This is not possible on the main island. We have to wait for the sea conditions to improve before moving them due to their weight but please do follow our social media sites as we continue to update our guests on their new adventures.
Kind regards
Daphne

My girlfriend and I went to Seychelles in the end of may 2017.

The location is great. You need only 20 minutes from airport to accommodation. Near accommodation you'll find shopping options or some local restaurants.
I can recommend lending a car during your stay. The chalets are separated and you won't be disturbed from the neighbors. The rooms are big enough for two people but there are also some chalets which are bigger for families. The chalet is modern and you have enough space.
You'll find also every item for cooking eating and take away boxes.
You can reach the beach in less than one minute.
The beach is a beautiful place you will love it! You've a Caribbean like beach and corals with beautiful fishes right in front of accommodation.
The owner of the chalet are also great.

Please help to save our environment and collect during your stay one bag of plastic. With such actions we can save our oceans and lands for generations!

@ chalets d'Anse Forbans thank you for a great stay and for the help.

Thank you so much for staying with us. We so enjoyed hosting you and enjoyed getting to know you both. We also thank you so much for caring for the environment which we are deeply passionate about. We hope to welcome you both back in the future and show you the community conservation programme efforts in reef restoration with their sea and land coral nursery which we hope will be started before the year end.
