This place is paradise on earth. We have visited the chalets three times in the past and cannot wait for our next trip. It is rare to find a place these days that is so far removed from the stresses of daily life. But this is it. The location is quiet, the beach breathtaking, the accommodation perfect and the owners are amazing, helpful & professional. I can recommend also hiring a car from the owners - for at least a few days, as this will also allow you to explore the island, other beaches, restaurants etc. I can highly recommend these chalets as the perfect "away from it all" holiday.

Room Tip: We love Chalets 11 or 12. It is furthest from the road & reception. Very private and direct access to the beach with the garden gazebo right in front for in case of a quick rain storm.

I visited the Chalets d'Anse Forbans in March and knew I wanted to come back and stay.
One night was clearly not enough this time, so another return is already being schemed up.
12 cottages guarantee peace and quiet, no crowds and the 'noise' one hears are from birds
or the surf crashing on the beach ...
An airconditioned bedroom, a fan in the sitting / dining and a kitchenette, fully equipped, provide the 'indoor' experience, clean, functional and what more does one really need when coming to the Seychelles to enjoy the sunshine, the beaches and the crystal clear warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Much of the day is spent outdoors anyway, sunbeds and beach towels are available and the office arranges for car hire, guided tours, fishing trips and more.
A bus stop, per trip costing an incredible 5 Rupees only, is outside the compound and Brigitte even has made arrangements for her clients to be picked up by a nearby supermarket, to do the daily shopping there and then brought back, as a service to guests. Then one can prepare a meal, or else ask for cook to be provided at a cost, who will even go and buy fresh fish and other ingredients, before preparing a genuine, tasty and filling Seychellois meal.
There are of course take away options available, a 'box' at most costing 50 Rupees and with a selection of different dishes, including salads, fish, curry, beef and chicken often enough to feed two. In fact, we worked it out with Brigitte that for breakfast, take away lunch and dinner and some samosas or cup cakes for tea, plus water or soft drinks, the daily food bill will be not more than 150 Rupees. Easting out is also an option, the excellent Takamaka Restaurant not too far away, but Brigitte is ever ready to provide a range of other options, from reasonably priced Seychellois eateries to medium and high priced restaurants frequented by foreign tourists.
This all in combination with a stay at Chalets d'Anse Forbans makes a holiday in the Seychelles quite affordable and the location at a truly excellent beach will make for a holiday of a life time without a life time mortgage in the tow.
Comes highly recommended, for the warmth of the entire staff, the helpful hints and suggestions from Brigitte and her family and the fact that one can come close up with the Seychellois people.

Room Tip: The cottages come either sea front or garden view ... both have their charm and they are all equipped the same way, except that family cottages have a connecting door.

The chalets anse forbans must have one of the best locations on the island less than 50metres from the beach, all the of which face the sea, the chalets are well maintained,a well equipped kitchen , useable dining area, large bedroom with comfortable beds with adequate storage space, the shower is as good as can be expected given the problems with the water supply.best of all is the sea facing veranda which we spent quite a lot of time chilling out.The owners run a well oiled business everything in its place(if only every where we have stayed was as well run) we had a few family problems which they sorted out effortlessly.
The only problem we had to deal with was the local roads as a car is essential for this locatian, the roads are bendy in the extreme and require great care.we hired a car from the chalets which was fine, beware of the local buses! Best supermarket is Kumar & Kumar on the road to Victoria, nearest supermarket is a km away turning left out of the chalets (very steep drop into the car park) .early morning you can buy fresh fish on the roadside to Victoria from the locals which they will dress for you, also pick fresh fruit up off the roadside stalls when you can.

Room Tip: They are all good rooms

I looked for beach chalets with two bedrooms for our trip to Seychelles and stayed in 5 different places. Proximity of a good beach was a priority as well as not having to cook dinner ourselves.

Chalet Anse Forbans is probably the friendliest place I ever stayed. The lady manager is extremely helpful. I cannot imagine any question that she couldn't have answered or at least found out.The place was run extremely professionally. Everything seemed to be thought of.

The location is excellent on the beach. The water at the beach is unbeliably clear. No big waves here and I enjoyed swimming there. Some tiny fish may come to "taste" you, no harm done, but a surprise.

The appartments are good, clean and well kept. Water and some basic items are waiting for you in the fridge.

According to the hotel description we expected two separate bathrooms in the 2-bedroom villa. It is actually one bathroom, there is a shower in the middle and small toilets on both sides of the shower area (walls don't go all the way up to the ceiling so the two toilets are in the same space).

One great thing is that there is air-con in the bedrooms (not so everywhere we stayed).

There is a very simple store close by. For a better grocery store you need a car (or a longer walk). There is a fruit stand on the road to Anse Intendance (turning left before the better supermarket). No restaurants close by (except Hotel Allamanda which is probably quite expensive for dining, considering the price I paid for a small amount of fruit I bought for breakfast before we found the fruit stand). For meals we drove to Surfers Beach restaurant, okay, but slow, and to Kaz Kreole. After the very good local style dinners we had had on the other islands we were not impressed as the food didn't seem very creole style.

The 2-bedroom chalets are behind the 1-bedroom chalets (not right on the beach that is) but close. Beach towels are provided.

They offer reasonably priced rental cars and bring it to the airport where you also leave it. I wouldn't stay there without a car.

I would stay there again.

Dear Kauris

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about Chalets d' Anse Forbans. We pride ourselves on our professional service and very happy to see your comments.

We certainly enjoyed hosting you and your friend and we would be most happy to host you both once again. The next time you will need to stay longer so we can give you further suggestions of other places of interest to visit and restaurants to sample with more Creole Cusine especially in the South of the Island.

Kind Regards,
Daphne
