“Unique”
Reviewed 30 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

This was a unique experience. The accommodation is situated in breathtaking countryside and the views are amazing. Our gite was comfortable and spacious with the added extra of a first storey balcony where we ate all our meals. The remarkable thing about L'Elzet is 'Jeaves' - owner and host extraordinaire who made us very welcome and cooked for us and other guests during the week. There is a spacious communal area with a view from the balcony to die for and added bonus are the livestock - goats, donkeys, dogs and cats with attitude who all add to the enjoyment (and entertainment). I would definitely come again.

“Quality accommodation and superb location”
Reviewed 19 August 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We had always wanted to visit L'Elzet and finally did this year and it certainly fulfilled our expectations. Jeaves our host was most friendly and helpful and she really is a terrific cook and a helpful guide to the local area. The accommodation is amazing, it's been beautifully designed and cared for with a range of self contained styles to suit all tastes and size of party, we stayed in Le Violon a two bedded apartment with stunning views across the wooded valley, we had taken a road trip from the UK but our daughter joined us later for a few days (Nimes airport is a short hour and a half hop). If you have never visited the Cevennes area it is beautiful unspoilt friendly and in late June the weather was hot Mediterranean. We relaxed and enjoyed terrific meals at Le Martinet restaurant down at the river. The river was fabulous and just the job to cool off in the hot afternoon sun. We can recommend the steam train from St Jean du Gard to Anduze stopping off at the Bambouzerie to take in the fabulous gardens. Overall a fantastic holiday break in wonderful accommodation and in a most beautiful area of Southern France.

“A great relaxing stay in idylic countryside”
Reviewed 4 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We stayed in The Tower in 2011 and liked it so much we returned again this year! It is perfect for two, with several private places to sit and relax and eat as well as the more communal areas should you want to be more sociable or even meet with the four-legged residents- sheep, goats, cats, dogs and donkeys! Jeaves is an excellent hostess and cook and has a talent for bringing people together for very enjoyable evenings. l'Elzet is in an idylic setting with views of wooded mountains and lovely villages with their markets are just a short drive away and waiting to be explored.

“Breathtaking views and a warm welcome!”
Reviewed 1 August 2015 for a stay in May 2015

I visited L Elzet for the second time with my husband and teenage daughter aged 14 years. We wanted to come back as we had enjoyed our holiday so much last year. We are always cautious when returning somewhere in case it doesn't meet with previous expectations bit we need not have worried as Jeaves gave us a fantastic welcome. We stayed in Le Violin again as it is spacious and lovely to sit out on the balcony. Leaves is an excellent host and we participated in at least two evenings where other guests all got together for a meal and drinks in the beautiful gardens. Our daughter did not want to bring a friend but was kept occupied by the many animals and had a chance to improve her French. We visited Carcassonne and Uzes and went to the beach (about an hour away). We hope to visit again soon and regard Jeaves as very much a friend.
