Spent two nights at Venao Cove. Quiet, simple, close to nature and very relaxed vibe without pretentions. Its a place I want to go back to, facilities are great, everything you need is there and the beach in front is wonderful. Leaf, the owner, is an absolute legend and incredibly generous with his time and tips. His heart is into the place and you feel it all over.

If you are looking for simple yet pleasing accommodations, don't be put off by the "hostel" in the name....there are 4 suites that offer beachfront bedrooms with a shared kitchen for each two. The rooms have a sliding door that opens to the ocean breezes and the use of colored concrete is creative. Don't expect luxury....there is literally a bed and a table in the suite (bunks in one), but it is all you need. The beach is at the end of Playa Venao and more swimmable (less of a surfing beach). This is a newly developed area with minimal nightlife. There is an excellent restaurant right next door and the food at neighboring Ecovenao is excellent (although they keep erratic hours). For hostel folks and campers, everyone who was staying at Venao Cove looked happy.

Room tip: Room 1 with a king bed has corner breezes.

Hostel Venao Cove is a hidden gem! There are many choices as far as accommodations, it is clean, directly on the beach (beach view from every hammock too), the staff is helpful, and the owners(and their children) are fantastic!
Venao Cove has such a great, lead back vibe! Leaf's "pizza night" is fun and delicious! He makes pizza's in his brick oven from all natural ingredients from his family garden!
I can't say enough good things about Hostel Venao Cove!!!

Room tip: You can choose from a shared dorm, semi-private rooms, or a whole house...

Very chilled out vibe, lovely people and amazing location close to the sea. Staff was kind but there aren’t any things organized, that could be improved, as well as that there isn’t a restaurant in the hostel and no (affordable) shops nearby. Take anti chitra stuff with you, they are killing you between 5-8 everyday

Venao Cove is a cozy Hostel at the far end of Playa Venao. The hostel area begins right at the beach, with outdoor showers, sitting corners and shade-spending trees (check the platform on the beachfront tree!) The kitchen is solid, the dorms are cozy with a small-room feeling and everything is well cleaned. The reception sells some basic groceries, as the next restaurants and Mini Supers are a serious footwalk away - except the Panga, which is closed Monday to Wednesday, I think. The party area is also quite far away, so Venao Cove is the most enjoyable when You like to cook and don’t need much entertainment. For couples, families and surfers it’s a great place.
