An absolute perfect start to our 7 day tour of Tasmania. Modern, clean, warm, chic, just beautiful. A book was placed on our child's bed for our arrival, along with a box of kids books and toys. The bathrooms are just gorgeous with under floor heating and beautiful shampoos and conditioners. The kitchen is well stocked and the breakfast hamper is delicious. The fireplace is an added bonus and so cosy. The olive grove that you look out onto as you wake up is also, absolutely beautiful. We will definitely recommend.
We attended a wedding on the weekend of May 6th, 2017 for my partner's mother as the bride and Villa Rochford was a picture perfect venue. The villa itself contained beautiful stone floors including heated bathroom flooring. Everything felt new yet natural, and we loved the little balcony/patio areas to sit and take in the olive groves. We also loved the natural homemade olive oil products, gorgeous raindrop shower and cheese platter. On the day of the wedding the marquee set up looked fantastic and the day went perfectly. A great experience.
I was looking for somewhere to stay in January and came across Villa Rochford. It was only still being built and we ended up being the first to make a booking ! It looked like a beautiful place to stay and when we arrived it certainly lived up to what we expected and more. It is very well thought out and caters very well for those who might wish to cook a meal. The toiletries are all locally made and smell so lovely, using olive oil.
The cheese platter on arrival was a lovely touch as well as the very generous breakfast provisions. Meals can be arranged and we had the angus steaks which were so tender. Even my vegetarian daughter could be catered for with a lasagne.
It is a very central location to so much. We stayed for three nights and went to Port Arthur, Orford and explored around the area near the cottage. Chris and Paul were great hosts and certainly made sure we had everything we needed.
I particularly loved the timber chair perched on the side of the hill overlooking the fields across the road. It was so relaxing to sit there listening to the cows and the other wildlife. We even saw an echidna walk by the house.
We left with a bottle of oil and some of the wonderful lotions and creams to take home.
I would highly recommend this as a place to stay.
