Embarking the Ocean and having goose bumps every single day you wake up at a stunning place with the view over the ocean and having Alonissos' odour in the air. The best thing we experienced at our stay was the warm welcome of our host Dimitri that did not just last for the first day of arrival...his hospitality even lasted to the very last day of our 4-day journey what we experienced as very special and appreciate it a lot. You can reach the Old Village in only 10min walk for groceries, bakery and restaurants. Best way to get around the island is a scooter or a small vehicle to discover beaches to swim in crystal clear waters. Stay for a week if you want to soothe your soul- stay there for a month if you want to write a book- stay there forever if you want to find peace.
We loved staying in this lovely private chalet, overlooking the sea!
The chalet and its location
The location was stunning, exactly what we had hoped for!
We were in the third chalet, it was a good size for two people and was exactly as shown in the pictures, built with the local stone and nicely decorated. The kitchen was fitted with everything we needed, and we cooked from home on a few occasions.
We loved the outdoor shower; great for when you return from a day at the beach!
We had the windows open a lot, so we could hear the sea. We loved it! However it can get a little noisy if the sea is rough, when sleeping, so if this might affect you, either close the windows :) or choose a chalet further up.
There were no guests staying in the second chalet while we were there, so it felt 100% private. The second and third chalets are very close, and you could potentially hear/see other people if the second chalet is occupied, which may affect complete privacy, but it is still very remote and peaceful.
The location is exactly what we wanted - away from the villages. However, it is still just a short drive/walk from the gorgeous old town. I walked one day and it took me about 10/15 mins. I wasn't timing, but it wasn't long. Otherwise driving it's about 2/3 mins. The old town has a lovely atmosphere in the evening.
Julia and Dimitris were both very friendly and approachable right from the start. I send a few questions before our trip and they were all responded to quickly.
They were very helpful in arranging scooter hire for us, so it was there when we stepped off the boat.
Dimitris showed us around the chalet when we arrived, and then throughout the trip gave us fabulous suggestions on where to go, where to eat and what to see. He was friendly and chatty and very easy to get on with.
I would recommend Julia and Dimitris as hosts and hope to stay with them again.
My wife and I knew we were going to have wonderful vacation. But we certainly could not expect so many astonishing beaches, one more beatiful than the other. Alonissos is a small island, with everything you need, in a very friendly atmosphere.
Dimitris and Casa Milos are great. The place is great.
I want to take my sons, their wifes and my two grandsons to Casa Milos very soon.
I must share with them this incredible experience.
Chalet III is situated in a lovely olive grove with beautiful views of the sea. The stone house has great privacy and peace and we enjoyed the different verandas, sun chairs and outdoor shower. Dimitris is a attentive and caring host and gave us good advice for hiking and quiet beaches.
Casa Milos is such a special place, silent, quiet and beautiful. The view is breathtaking and you have lots of spots around the house to have a drink and enjoy it. Inside the house you have everything you need for a week staying. The bed is confortable and the shower is great. Dimitri and Julia pay special attention to the guests and provided from coffee to good conversation. I highly recommend it.
