This is a delightful cottage that shows how life used to be but does it very well. The furniture is mostly period but fit beautifully into a traditional Aussie cottage. Once again I have to comment on how wonderful it is to have a wood burning stove on a cold night.
The back deck looks out onto the river Tyeena, noted for its trout. In fact while we had a glass of wine on the deck and the daylight faded, we had a couple of fly-fishermen slowly walking and casting up the river past us.
It is called Platypus Cottage for a reason, just walk 100 metres downstream (opposite the school) at dusk or early in the morning and the performing platypus will be in action. Wonderful!
Everything we needed was on hand with a very friendly voice on the end of a telephone when we had a question.
If you want a romantic little hideaway this must be it.
