We first arrived late evening, went to our room and it would not accommodate three people (no pullout sofa bed in the couch) with king-bed. This property has no roll-aways either. So we had to change rooms. 2nd room was one of those "adjoining rooms" with a shared door. We could hear the entire telephone conversation from throughout the nice, large, oversized room (I believe due to the poor design of full tile underneath the room entrance and adjacent adjoining room entrance doorways co-located) from the strangers next door, and it was already past midnight. Another room change, but was told a Platinum could not upgrade on points. Really? So ok, the saga continues.

The outdoor US Flag is ripped and shredded--it's a new hotel, come on, please!
All day Sat the front entrance garbage container was overflowing, with garbage on the ground (all day long).
We had to change rooms again, it took 3 hours for the very nice staff to figure it out. That room was not cleaned.
In the meantime, I did laundry in their nice, new, "quarter only" machines. They had no quarters but told me they had an arrangement with Home2Suites next door to get quarters. I could get them there. I am not making this up!
Coffee pot in one of the rooms, don't remember which one, was broken.
Type of shower head slowly leaks a bit of water after taking a shower (no leaking valve because it only lasts a little while--just when you put your head down on that pillow to sleep!). Drips fall right on top of aluminum/metal drain cover which runs the width of the shower below where the shower head lies...yep, you guessed it, very loud "ping" when those drops fall. The shower is aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but just not acceptable. Oh, and there is no shower door (one of those "nuevo" shower designs) so water splashes onto the bathroom floor. Several showers later...that's a lot of water.
After the grass was cut, either grass clippings blew in under the door or a ton were tracked into the hallway from the side door to the parking lot. This grass remained in the hallway for the next two days.
It's a new hotel, they said 4 months old, so the carpet still smells new! Breakfast was good, even when slammed at closing time on the weekend. Staff went back to the kitchen and provided more items that were already gone. Rooms have great A/C, blowing cold when it is super hot outside. Staff is nice, just can't get anything done quickly, or in the case of coin change, not at all. Very unimpressive, a disappointing hotel stay, and I am sad to report definitely not anywhere near standards experienced at Marriott properties.

Room tip: Avoid any room with an adjoining room, unless you want that room for a family. Not all rooms have a pullout sleeper, just a couch.

The Residence Inn was beautiful, new, and great location near the interstate with easy access to Purdue University. The staff were friendly and happy. The rooms were accessed by internal hallways, which increased security and safety, especially for solo travelers. Good restaurants and shopping nearby.

My first impression wasn't so good. I sent a message via Facebook asking if they allowed pets (specifically a cat) to stay. They read the message but never responded. I also messaged their next door neighbor and they replied right away. I debated which to choose and ended up here cause the rooms seemed larger. (Our cat stayed with grandma.)
Parking is simple and free. Check in and check out were simple and easy. Employees were friendly. Elevators were fast and always available. Our room was huge. Nice kitchen area with all the necessities. The couch was very uncomfortable and the couch bed was even more uncomfortable. (Bedroom bed was ok.) The table in the room only sat 2, which I found strange since the room slept 4. The bathroom, as well as the entire room, was very clean. The shower water pressure was terrible. Things seemed quiet in the living room (on the top floor) however in the bedroom you could hear some street noise.
The pool area was nice however the pool seemed to have a brown film around it. Missed having a hot tub. Also had a nice sitting area off of it however there's no coverage and on an extremely hot day it'd be nice to have some shade to read or relax.
When we first got into our room we noticed there was an almost empty roll of toilet paper and no replacement. We called down to the front desk who said they'd send up some. We waited 2 hrs and had to call back.
The hotel is easily accessible from I65. There's many restaurants in the area (2 are walking distance right across the road) as well as shopping. Within a close drive there's many nice parks and of course the university.
Overall we had a nice time in Lafayette but if returning, we'd probably choose another hotel.

Friend staff. Place was very clean and comfortable. The 2 queen suite was very nice and spacious. Room was clean, bedding was clean and comfortable. It was nice having the kitchen along with all the added items, ie plates, silverware, etc. The only complaint, the floors get very slippery when wet. The pool area was clean and freshly washed towels were available. The breakfast was good, get there early, they do replenish items, but it was busy. Great location.

BOTTOM LINE: Brand new hotel with a sleek, modern look and feel. Delicious complementary breakfast. Nice gym. As always, good customer service. Room was noisy. Great value.

Brand new hotel. Rooms are spacious and very modern looking. Beds were quite comfortable. The bathrooms are large but don't have doors that enclose the shower so there is a gap and cool air comes in while you shower. A little odd but not terrible.

Not sure if there was a train or it was the A/C but our room was a little loud, making a little hard to sleep. When we first went to our room, the room hadn't been cleaned. Jessica rectified the situation quickly and apologized profusely. She checked in with us after we got our 2nd room to make sure everything was OK. I appreciated that.

Gym was nice - new equipment (2 treadmills and 2 elliptical machines) and new free weights. Nice water dispenser and it smelled good in there. Enjoyed working out in this gym. Nice outside fire pit and grill area. We didn't use it but would have if we had more time.

Great value hotel and close to Purdue if you are visiting. There are also lots of places to eat near this hotel.
