Description: Steak 'n Shake, a classic American brand, was founded in 1934 in Normal, Illinois by Gus Belt who pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milkshakes. For over 80 years, the company's name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word "steak" stood for steakburger. The term "shake" stood for hand-dipped milkshakes. Gus was determined to serve his customers the finest burgers and shakes in the business. Today, Steak 'n Shake remains the "better burger" leader, serving premium 100% beef steakburgers, hand-dipped milkshakes, thin crispy fries, and more. Steakburgers are made without preservatives or artificial ingredients, topped with fresh produce, and always hand-crafted to order. Other classics include the Frisco Melt, 7x7, Prime Steakburgers, and fan favorite M&M milkshakes.

We used to drop by a few times a month while shopping in Quincy. Until I saw a server make a person's shake. The shake was overflowing down the side and she took her finger up it and licked it off! Now, who wants that shake served to them??!!
We left without finishing our burgers. Gross!!!

Went in around 11 a. m. on Thur. 9/7/17 for lunch with 2 other people. Everything was filthy. They seated us fairly quickly. Then another worker came to take our drink order. The three of us ordered basic shakes, and also ordered 2 chicken strip meals and a crispy chicken sandwich meal. We waited for about 15 mins. and the food arrived. We had to flag down a server to ask for silverware. That finally showed up, and we asked about our shakes and they said they'd check on them. Had to again flag a server to ask about shakes. By this time we were half finished with food. Finally, the shakes arrived, and I guess we had them for desert. Once finished, we waited and waited for our check. It never came. We finally got up and went to register and WAITED for someone to settle our bill. If I wouldn't have been arrested, we should have just walked out if they didn't want to collect our bill. We expressed our dislike of today's visit and with no apology, just excuses; paid our bill and was advised by cashier to contact corporate to express our frustration. This is the second time in a month we experienced bad service. If I could, I would rate this place a minus 10

The milkshakes are fantastic. The have happy hour during the week from 2-4pm. The resturant isn't always the cleanest and the service can be very slow on the weekends.

Went to a Steak 'n Shake on a recommendation from a friend that it was excellent. She was correct. Hamburger is 6oz and cooked after you order it. Tastes like a great home cooked burger! French fries were thin and crispy...just like I ordered them and the chocolate shake was delicious. Staff was friendly, efficient and seemed to work well together. A little pricey for fast food...but definitely worth every penny! We will seek out this chain other times when we travel!
