I was fortunate enough to join a small group of friends at this wonderful villa. High above all other cares and only linked to the world below by views of distant activity to and from Samui airport and the ferry to Koh Phangan.
Beautifully designed, built of teak and furnished like an old Thai palace. Set in exotic gardens and with a view across to the hills, coves and bays making up north Samui. It is out of this world.
Housekeepers Khun Oy and Wally bring you back down to earth when you need to be reminded that the world is still turning. Oy's cooking makes all of those myths about Thai food a reality. They can arrange for anything you want.
A time too brief but a memory that will last forever.
For the 2nd year, we have stayed at the Tassana Pra villa from 1st to 18th March. We were pleased to have such a wonderful vacation in this well-maintained villa with a beautiful garden. All bedrooms were spacious and had their own bathroom. The pool is big and clean with a panoramic view on the Bophut bay. Moreover, Oy, Wally and Moon are adorable people that take cares of the villa and their guests with love.
However, we have found 2 little negative points:
- The airport is close to the villa and takeoffs do some noises.
- Trees and bushes in front of the swimming pool deserve a little cut to be smaller in order to enjoy more the view.
We advice this villa and will certainly come back there without the slightest hesitation.
A group of us, 4 adults, 2 children(2 & 5 yrs old) and a 4 month old baby stayed here for 7 days. I spent 2 months research for the ideal place to stay in Koh Samui and decided that a direct beach access villa wasn't right for us due to the inconsistency of the water and sand. I came across Villa Tassana and reaching about it ticked all the boxes. After a 10-15 minute drive from the airport(we hired our own van), we arrived at our beautifully designed Thai style house, perched on the mountain side with stunning views across the northern coast of the island. The villa gardens were stunning and beautifully cared for by the gardener. Our Villa manager, Oy and Wally were there at the entrance to great my family with a very warm friendly smile. We were shown around the very impressive villa and its 4 en-suite bedrooms - perfect for my family. The dining table and main outdoor seating area was amazing, with sweeping views of the ocean, the islands and boats. Also as its near the airport, you watch the aircrafts land and that was fascinating for the children, that was always fun to watch. What really stood out was the amazing food, Oy would ask us what we would like each day for dinner and she would go to the local market and buy fresh ingredients - fruit, vegetables, fish, and produce an amazing dinner - full of thai flavours - good for all levels of eaters - the villa and food was just stunning. After our daily morning visits to the nearby beaches, we would relax in the beautifully designed pool and enjoy the warm sun. Truly and amazing experience. looking forward to our return...
We stayed at Tassana Pra for a week with another family. Total of 4 adults and 5 kids. The property is stunning and fit us all very well. There are 2 generous master bedrooms which meant neither couple had a lesser room (one does have a study attached but that neither here nor there for us). The other two bedrooms were perfect for the kids and they added a third single bed in one room to accommodate our youngest daughter. If you go to their official website you can see a floor plan.
Our hosts Oy and Wally were just divine and very knowledgable about the island's attractions. Oy is the most incredible cook and Wally headed to the market every day to get us fresh food. The kids were obsessed with Oy's fried rice and pancakes. I think they asked for it every day. Oy was also generous enough to teach me how to make a pad thai one evening. My husband and I are vegetarian which was not a problem for Oy. The noodles, the rice and the curries were outstanding. Our friends enjoyed fresh crab, fish and other meat-based dishes all thanks to Wally's local produce knowledge.
The property is located high on a hill, halfway between Chaweng and Bophut so both towns were easily accessible. Transport was easiest arranged by Oy with prearranged pick up spots as most local taxi drivers have trouble finding the villa. The villa is so stunning, the pool so inviting and Oy's cooking so delicious we didn't really want to leave much anyway.
There wasn't a sound system so I'd recommend you bring a portable speak if you want some music.
I would recommend Tassana Pra to anyone. It was a fantastic stay that didn't last long enough.
