Tigh na Creagan is located within a small Highland community hosting a local dog friendly hotel, licensed grocers and watercraft launching facilities. 33 miles from Fort William the Outdoor Capital of Scotland, it’s a great base for family and friends to visit Scotland's historic and characterful Highlands and the stunning Hebridean Islands. Bring your own boat/kayak. A private bay, jetty and pontoons are available for use by separate arrangement with our immediate neighbours - launching of man handled watercraft may be free. Ample space is available at the cottage for storing boats during your stay. Fishing/day boats can be chartered nearby, or you are welcome to fish direct from the garden or the nearby jetty (by arrangement). Enjoy Scotland's rocky coastline or its beautiful silver sands all located within easy reach on the peninsula and north towards Mallaig. A ferry trip can take you over to Mull, the small isles - or further afield. Various restaurants/eateries are located within 0–10-mile radius. NOTE: We operate a policy of 'Think before you Switch'. To encourage our guests to act with a responsible attitude towards our planet by only using what utilities you really need, we apply a generous weekly allowance of 200 units of electricity. You won't need to skimp with this allowance! and you can certainly exceed this by paying the current unit rate for any extra used. Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

A perfect piece of pet-friendly, lochside luxury on the spectacular Ardnamurchan Peninsula
Wow, what a spot! Tigh na Creagan is situated in a stunning location, on the edge of Loch Sunart with uninterrupted views of the water, hills, boats and wildlife. Three of the four double bedrooms, along with the dining room and two living rooms, benefit from this amazing vista which provides hours of tranquil, mindfulness gazing if you wish. Swimming, kayaking and boat chartering were much enjoyed straight from the jetty, where the Jetty Shop and Café is also a great asset. The house was really well equipped and furnished for our family stay; it was also very clean, comfortable and warm. We loved snuggling by the log burner when the rain and hail was falling heavily outside! The weather there changes by the second from blue skies and sunshine to torrential rain and hail. In no way did this spoil our wonderful holiday though. Long walks, beautiful beaches, wildlife watching trips and a foot ferry to Tobermory, interspersed with cosy pubs, cafés, distilleries and smokehouses were all a tremendous success. We were delighted with our choice of holiday home for our special birthday celebration on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, especially as we were able to watch an otter swimming and catching fish in the water just by the terrace! A big thank you to Nikki and Paul, the owners, who are fabulous hosts. Communication before and during our stay was prompt and very helpful, especially the tips about online shopping. Nikki even took our shopping in and put it away before we arrived! The selection of welcome treats was amazing too - especially the homemade chocolates, fudge and cakes - as well as treats for our dog. We highly recommend this house which, to us, was worth every mile of our long, two day journey to reach it!

A wonderful location & the house was beautiful, very well equipped, lots of space for a large group ,you could just sit & look out of the window all day ! Nikki had left a lovely welcome package which was very appreciated. We bought fresh langoustines from the fish man who came to the jetty shop, a real treat ,had a great meal at Ardshealach lodge which serves local produce. Would love to return

Stunning location and house
Our family enjoyed a fabulous escape post lockdown in Nikki and Paul’s wonderfully equipped house. The ever changing views were mesmerising even on dreich days! Glorious birdsong and clear air and water. Toasty wood burning stove on chilly evenings and great barbecue and deck furniture enjoyed on warmer days. Scrumptious welcome chocolate and ginger cake and other treats devoured! Enclosed safe garden for our dog to roam. The Salen Jetty shop were very friendly and well stocked. Salen hotel just opened the night before we left and produced a tasty meal for us all. Gorgeous walks in ancient Oakland close by and great exploring worthwhile not far away. A welcome tonic to celebrate release from lockdown. Thank you for sharing your stunning house Nikki & Paul.

Stunning setting for rejuvenating trip post lockdown in Salen, Ardnamurchan.
We spent a very enjoyable week in Salen and a major reason for this was the quality, comfort and location of Tigh-na-Creagan as well as the friendliness and hospitality of Nikki and Paul. The setting is beautiful, the cottage really comfortable, spacious and very well appointed. Rooms all very well designed. Kitchen has absolutely everything you need and the dining room stunning views. Lounge spacious and comfortable and wood burning stove for the chilly evenings. The deck and the BBQ are excellent. Salen Jetty Shop has most things you might need with very friendly owners. Salen Hotel was only just opening as we left (COVID) but staff seemed really friendly and we had a good meal. Ardnamuchan itself is fabulous and well worth the visit. Couldnt recommend Tigh-na-Creagan highly enough. We look forward to a return visit.

Excellent home
Just home from a wonderful 2 weeks with family at Tigh na Creagan. We had mixed weather but the house was so comfortable we hardly noticed. Robin on the bird feeder kept us amused by keeping all other birds away. Kayaked, cycled, boat trip, beach picnic and dog walking. Managed one meal out at Salen Hotel but everything you need in the best equipped kitchen I've had in a holiday home. Thanks Nikki

Absolutely fabulous
This accommodation is first class. The house is so well equipped with not only the essentials but much more. The welcome pack was by far the best we have ever had. The location is absolutely stunning as is the surrounding area with superb views across the Loch, which were a pleasure to wake up to every morning.

Just fantastic.....
Fabulous cottage, very high standards and in such a lovely location. The owners have really provided everything you could possibly want. Everything is so clean and well maintained, would definitely recommend and would stay again if we come to this area again. The location is very rural and involved a lot of driving to visit places, but the scenery is so worth it. Had a few meals out, the Salen was nice, above average meal and very reasonable priced. Mingarry......wow can only say it’s a must, we had the most fantastic meal there, very good standard of food, and the chef is just a genius.

We enjoyed an amazing week at Tigh na Creagan. Views of the loch are amazing and there is a beautiful garden. The cottage is spacious and comfortable with thoughtful little touches that make a big difference. There is a handy shop next door and we ate 3 times at the Salen Hotel and the food and service was amazing. Great location for us to kayak on the loch, visit the beach and rock climb at Ben Nevis.Overall great holiday would highly recommend!

Great place to chill out....
Booked the cottage so we could just relax and chill out and oh, take hubby's boat so he could go fishing on the Loch, great facilities at the Salen Jetty for the boat. The road from Strontian to Salen a bit tricky especially towing a boat but take your time and it's ok. Cottage is stunning, great views, private and very well equipped. The owners could not have done more for us, even when we arrived with a couple of extra guests! Salen Hotel a short walk serves great food and is in a nice location looking over the Loch. SalenJetty has a wee well stocked shop. There is also a Co-op, Baker, Hotel & Restaurant a short 3 mile drive from Salen. We will go back.
