“Fresh Roasted Coffee, Family Owned Brews”

Dead Poet's Espresso
Ranked #2 of 4 Coffee & Tea in Moline
Restaurant details
Reviewed 6 April 2018

Tom and Charles Lahl run an excellent little business convenient to the John Deere pavilion, local shopping, bus station, historic Floreciente, and the Tax Slayer center. Fresh roasted brews, nice treats, light lunch and soups, and the coffee of the day is an extra special treat. Today was Blueberry Cobbler. Fantastic family owned small business, the art of Dead Poets like Edgar Allen Poe, Shakespeare, and others, and homey decor adds to its charm. Great for family, business meetings, or quick stops for take out. Free WiFi, free parking, walking distance to attractions. One of the top small businesses in the Quad Cities!

The espresso is very good! I love the fact that they are a local roaster because it is almost impossible to get exceptional coffee from a national chain.

We have been wanting to go here for a long time. Glad we finally made it. The space is attractive, service was great, food was tasty and the live piano player was doing a fine job to make for a relaxing lunch.

I've been visiting this little shop since I was in high school and it simply has delicious espresso. I haven't tried the food, so I can't speak to that- but it's well worth a visit if you're in the area visiting the John Deere Pavilion or planning a walk along the river (which is always better with coffee), or simply going to sit with friends. It's often quiet, with patrons reading or writing so it's the perfect spot if you don't want to deal with the hustle and bustle of corporate coffee.
