Stopped here for a one-night stay on an adventurous journey heading West to the Badlands of South Dakota. Staying in this charming Midwestern house with an 1890s flair made me feel just like an old-time traveler going to explore the American frontier, but relaxing first surrounded by grand comfort in Kewanee before venturing forth into the great unknown. The proximity to trains added the right touch of romance to the atmosphere, and I loved hearing them go by. The furnishings were elegantly clean and beautiful, the breakfast fancy and delicious (including the Yorkshire Gold tea that as it happens, I normally drink at home too), the hospitality helpful and welcoming. Hopefully, my travels will bring me back here again on another trip out West.
