The greens and fairways are well maintained. Halfway house was quick with our lunch and cocktails and after golf drinks were ok woman bartender very slow.

An absolutely Beautiful Course!!!

Since going public this place hasn't missed a beat the course is in great shape and I look forward to playing here again soon.
The only drawback is the sand sand sand!
The bunkers are merciless but they add so much dimension to this layout.
Make a Tee time and spend a few bucks you won't disappointed.️️️

After caddying here for 8 years, I was saddened to hear the course went public. Traveled from St. Louis to relive old times. Course is in great condition. Club house is as beautiful as ever. Staff was friendly and accommodating. It is a little pricey, but well worth it for the caliper of course and the way it is maintained.

Chicago is the public golf capital of the United States with more quality courses than anyone can play in any other city. One of the best public courses is Ravisloe Country Club, which used to be one of the most exclusive private country clubs in the Chicago area. Located at 18231 Park Avenue in south suburban Homewood, it was built in 1901 on the 120-acre Briggs farm. The original golf course was laid out by Theodore Moreau and James Foulis. In 1916, world renowned golf course architect Donald Ross was invited to put his imprint on the course. Ross' fine tuning, which continued until l924, was praised by some of the greatest golfers of that era, including Harry Vardon, Edward Ray, Warren Wood and Chick Evans. Its 1902 clubhouse was replaced by a Spanish Mission style masterpiece designed by George Nimmons, who also designed the noteworthy clubhouse at nearby Olympia Fields. In 2008, after 107 years as a storied country club with a proud and strong Jewish heritage, Ravisloe closed its doors. Enter Dr. Claude Gendreau, an acclaimed veterinary surgeon, who purchased the property and opened the course to the public. Today, it has established a well-earned reputation as one of the finest public layouts in the country. How about $40 for seniors on Tuesdays with a cart? It's a great way to spend a summer afternoon. The par-70, 6,321-yard layout, which was rated one of the top 12 courses in Illinois in a 2012 survey, is easily identified as a Donald Ross design with its extensive bunkering around the small greens and waste areas. Despite its lack of length, Ravisloe presents many mental challenges amid its tree-lined fairways. There are three par-3s on the front nine and only one par-5 on the back. The par-5, 13th is regarded as the course's signature hole, a dogleg right that tempts long hitters to cut the corner or land in a large bunker. While Ravisloe is open to the public for golf, it continues to offer its facilities for private functions, including weddings and corporate outings.

Lovely grounds, Good meeting, special event and wedding spaces. Very efficient staff. Large groups can be comfortably accommodated on beautiful outside patio with very large adjacent indoor facilities on either side. Pro shop well equipped. Close to Metro and La Banque Hotel which will provide complimentary shuttle service. The food in the 19th hole is very good too.
