Just returned from a 9-night stay at this property. I've traveled widely over a long number of years, and have to say this was one of the best hotels I have stayed in.
I'ts totally unique, and by booking direct with the hotel, we were offered two rooms with large walk-in showers, which I really appreciated as I have slightly limited mobility. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean and the superior room had the benefit of tea/coffee facility, including bottled water, (but strangely no milk! - which did not bother us as we managed without).
Breakfast and Dinner buffets were of good quality, and all the staff were friendly and efficient. We had lunch a couple of times at the Pool restaurant and it was very good.
We arrived during the evening, and found Reception difficult to find - and had to ask other guests, but once there, the reception staff were very helpful and arranged for the concierge to take out bags and show us to our rooms -(the rooms are spread over 3 buildings),
Finally, I was disappointed to read a previous reviewer stating that the place was 'like a rehearsal for a Care Home' as this simply is not true. Whereas many of the guests are in the 40+ age bracket, there was a wide age-range with a few young families with children while we were there, We will certainly be returning!More
