Fabulous island, people are so friendly, Brightside is a family orientated place.
My appartement is very clean and spacious. One of the best places I have ever been to. Would highly recommend it to others.

When i first drove up i thoughr it was a cool place. I thought the property was in a good location. Not too far from the beach, the aquarium and you could catch the bus with no problem. The owner was pleasant and professional. Perhaps I didn't read about house keeping but she never came to clean up our room for 3 nights we didn't have clean linen and I had to go get new towels on the 2nd day from the office. So I was disappointed with the cleaning. Also the shower was super small.
They had free Internet this was a great perk.

I recently stayed in Bermuda for my sister's destination wedding in July of 2013. We actually have family in Bermuda and they confirmed our UPGRADED rooms before we called to give Michael (the manager) our credit card information. I called one week out to ensure all was well and Michael stated that we were "upgraded to the two bedroom family cottage." Upon checking in a day before the wedding we checked into a two bedroom cottage smelled like mold, it did not have wifi as promised, we could run our fingers through the dust on the end tables in both rooms, there were dead flies in the bathroom, and the kitchen was not suitable for you to cook in because the stove and refrigerator were dirty and rusty. To make things worst the head cleaning lady stated that she gave Michael, the owner a list of things to do to the cottage before we arrived. He stated they overbooked and didn't have any where else to go. He was very unsympathetic. We ended up staying with family that night and checking into a much better resort the following night. Please beware of bad management and unfulfilled promises. The two bedroom family cottage is not suitable for another to stay and all other rooms are not large enough to accommodate the number of people listed on the website.

I recently traveled from Washington, DC to Bermuda for a friends 60th birthday party in April 2013. Our group occupied eight (8) units on the property. The property has a family friendly environment located in the Flatts.

Guests have the ability to cook in the units which will help save money. The supermarket is a 10 minute bus ride. Bermuda is VERY expensive. You will find the food in the supermarket more expensive than in the US, but it is still a much better value than eating out for every meal.

The location is ideal for traveling on the public buses. Bermuda is very safe. You have a two minute walk to the Bermuda aquarium. The property is a 5 minute bus ride from the public beach (Shelly Bay Beach), so you can board the bus with your beach towels and chairs. Additionally you do have some local restaurants within a 5 minute walk to the property.

Although this is an older property, it is owned and operated by the Lightbourne family and they take great pride in maintaining their property and work very hard to accommodate their guests. Currently they are renovating the property and upgrading the amenities room by room.

I was traveling alone, but I felt very safe and comfortable in Bermuda. Several of the people in our group have been to Bermuda in the past (my first trip). They've stayed at Brightside in the past.

This property is definitely one to consider if you are traveling to Bermuda on a budget.

Room tip: Rooms in the back, near the pool are very quiet. The recently renovated large family units are in the back.

Not being able to afford the higher end resorts and guest cottages, we found this to be a wonderful alternative, a charming boldly blue collection of apartments situated toward the east end of the island in Flatts village right on all the major thoroughfares overlooking a picturesque inlet and harbor and across the road from the aquarium with great walks in all directions and decent restaurants a mere stone's throw away, also a charming clothing store with an ample supply of Bermuda shorts and rasta wear. Everyone at the guest house was extremely friendly and hospitable, going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and that we had everything we needed to get around the island and enjoy our stay with the greatest of ease. Our studio apartment was off the upstairs veranda with shutters and solid drapes to keep out light and traffic noise at night, modest but sizeable and clean, outfitted with kitchenette and set up for dining and tv although we took all our meals out. The queen bed in our studio was firm enough to ensure sound comfortable sleep. Our bedding and towels were changed every day. The verandas are broad and ample with wicker furniture where we sat out planning our days and taking in the milieu and hustle of the village. There is also a pool nicely set on the premises which turned out to be a refreshing alternative on the one day we didn't swim at the beach. If you're not looking for anything fussy and fancy but clean, modest and way more comfortable and welcoming than the average hotel, Brightside Guest Apartments should do the trick.

Room tip: ask for a front unit that has a balcony or veranda
