My wife and I had a great lunch today at the Sugar Reef Restaurant at the hotel. Jefferson was our server and he did a superb job. The views from the restaurant are breathtaking. I had the blackened fish and my wife had the pumpkin soup and the fish roti. For dessert we had nutmeg and coconut ice cream. Everything was just perfect. We have eaten at and reviewed many restaurants in Bequia and the Sugar Reef Restaurant is surely one of the best. Since we will be here for awhile longer we will certainly go back. This restaurant is highly recommended.

We spent the day in Bequia so took a tour with a local driver to see some of the island.
Industry Bay is just north of Spring on the Eastern side of Bequia so it is cooled constantly by the Atlantic breezes. The area was formerly Sugar Plantations and there are ruins scattered throughout the area.

There are pockets of coconut trees here but the foliage is mainly grasses. There are a couple farms / ranches in the area.

There’s a beautiful property right in the Bay called Industry Estate House, a stunning stone cottage which is available for rent. It is certainly worth the view alone!

Industry Bay is popular with the locals as it is somewhat calmer than its neighbouring bays, however, it is still rough waters with strong currents. On the day we visited it was infested with seaweed so it was not very pleasant but once out of seaweed season, it would be a lovely place to stop for a swim, followed by drinks or lunch at Sugar Reef and a visit to the Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary further up the road.

Reef House overlooks this bay and Industry is by far a misnomer of a name for this area. It dates back to when there was harvesting and processing of coconuts in the area. Now it is a very quit location with a delightful crescent beach.

If you are looking for incredible ocean views, extreme privacy and romantic accommodations then Reef House is the answer. Private villa rental with your own pool, spacious rooms and indoor/outdoor Caribbean living. Can chose from 2 to 5 bedrooms so can easily be for friends or family. Beautifully furnished and attention to detail. Feels like your own private resort. Short walk down to beach and restaurant nearby. 15 minute taxi to town. It is everything it advertises and more. Raises the bar for vacations and owner Sally makes booking easy and friendly. Housekeeper/cook, house manager and gardener very helpful and welcoming and will give you ultimate privacy as you wish. Reef House is now our favorite destination!
