This was a surprise trip to celebrate my daughters 12th Birthday! This hotel was perfectly located for us to enjoy all of the major sights we planned to see. The hotel had so much charm and character. Rooms were beautiful and the beds amazingly comfortable. Most impressive was the friendly staff. Darnell made sure we were well taken care of our entire stay, even sending up a surprise birthday treat for my daughter. Highly recommend this hotel!

Small, detail oriented hotel with an amazing staff. Impressive building, wonderful beds, easy location for both theatre and shopping. Near the river and within the loop - this place is just remarkable!

Stayed years ago at this hotel when it was the Burnham Hotel. Liked it then, still like it. Rooms are very small but nicely appointed. The king bed had individual comforters - instead of 1 big one. We liked this but some might not. Bedding was very nice. Room was relatively quite, don't recall much hall noise but we were at the end of a hallway, far from the elevators. This is a historic hotel and has lots of charm. Bath amenities were Tommy Bahama I believe. Containers were mounted to the wall rather than individual sample size. Shower was decent. Love the Atwood Café on the main floor. Good food. Location is great for the loop and shopping. It's a 1/2 mile or so to get to the shopping on Michigan Ave but very doable. Near the hotel is the Macy's State Street store, a Nordstrom Rack and the shops at Block 37. Also, a short 3 block walk to Millennium Park. Highly recommend.

We (hubs, his daughter and I) had a great room on the 4th floor overlooking the street so we got to watch the Shamrock Shuffle up close. The room was very clean and had a lot of thoughtful extras including earplugs which were unnecessary. The hotel is in the heart of shopping, too, so plan to bring bags because many of the stores charge extra.

Room tip: If you want to people-watch, be sure to ask for a room facing the Macy's corner

We won our night at the Alise Chicago as part of a charity auction. We arrived to a valet for our car and a pleasant front desk staff to check us in. We stayed in a beautiful room with historical features (and a real key). We were well cared for and treated well. The kitchen for room service closes early, which would be my only complaint (and a small one at that). But they even gave my daughter a cool “do not disturb” sign to take home. And toothbrushes because we forgot. Awesome hotel!!!
