Buy the tickets online various websites offer discounts. Once you’re on the elevator it’s a cool experience. Lots of Chicago fun facts to read on the walls during the wait The views are incredible as we really wanted to see both city and the lake combined for Wow. The tilt experience is fun and a remarkable engineering feat.

So, I have been all over the world at observation decks - and from my experience in the US, this is the best. Other than the old World Trade Center (and that visit was in 1987) this offers the best views, vantage points to see architecture, visits from someone explaining the different buildings, general concessions, unhurried atmosphere, and all around substantial views. I really enjoyed our time - and there many places to sit and just look at the lake or the vast city of Chicago and all in an environment that was comfortable even though there were tons of kids running around. It was an exceptional visit and the wait for the ride up and back down was easy and well managed.

Since we had already gone to the Willis Tower in the morning, we decided to come visit the 360 Observation Deck in the nighttime to see the city lit up. It was well worth it - plus, it wasn't near as crowded as the Willis Tower. You can pay I believe $6 to go on the ride where the glass leans forward.

We visited at night. The line was long & extremely hot!! One would not expect to wait in sweltering heat inside the building when its in the 30’s outside. The line needs a more interactive queue - more things to read, view, games for the kids, etc. After going up to the sky deck we really enjoyed the view. Once again the line to go down was another long wait. The view is a solid 5!
