Owner description: Chicago's breath-taking National Landmark Theatre hosts concerts, comedians, theatrical productions and special events every year. The 3,600 seat auditorium is seven stories high, and the vertical "C-H-I-C-A-G-O," sign is one of the few such signs in existence today. A symbol of State Street and Chicago, the marquee is a landmark in itself, as is the Wurlitzer pipe organ. Patrons can also go behind-the-scenes on their educational venue tour, which runs a few times a week.

“Check the schedule”

Often, great acts perform here. Used to be a movie theater. Was totally refurbished and is architecturally beautiful. Worthwhile for an on-stage performance if your trip is scheduled when a favorite artist is in town.

“Absolutely beautiful in side”

Saw the UFC weigh ins and Joe Rogan this past weekend at the Chicago theater. Beautiful place! Not a bad seat! Looks a lot like the Fox Theater in STL

Have seen many theatrical performances here. Best seats are on the main floor!

“Great Venue...Not Too Big”

It is such a historic building! It is beautiful! It is also a wonderful place to see a show! The sound is good and I don't think there is a bad seat in the house.

“A Landmark Theater not to be Missed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 January 2012

If you have a chance to see a show at The Chicago Theatre, do not pass it up. The theater is a fabulous old jewel with architectural features you just don't see anymore. The drinks are a tad pricey, but aren't they always at a venue? That said, there are multiple bars, and waitressess for the Mezzanine. Speaking of the Mezzanine, if you don't have to sit up front, I highly recommend sitting in a box or booth in the Mezzanine. Not only do you get a waitress, but you have much more room and less busy bathrooms.
