We have a Girl's Night Out every month. For the month of April it was around the birthday of one of the members. We decided to come to Lalo's, upon my request. I hadn't eaten here in a long time but, I do remember they had the best Margaritas in town. We were to arrive at 6pm but, of course when you are dealing with women they never arrive on time. The birthday girl was an hour late. It's 5 of us in the group and 3 arrived on time. When we arrived there was seating available. They would not seat us because the entire party was not there. The 3 of us sat at the bar waiting patiently. One of the 3 does not drink so she had Coke. The other 2 of us decided to order a pitcher of Margarita. We also had chips, salsa and guacamole. I do not eat guacamole so, I had salsa. You can tell the that both were hand made because, they tasted so fresh. You could also taste the ingredients that were in both. Great appetizers! So time has passed and now they are packed. Finally after an 1 1/2 hours the other 2 decided to join us. They ordered drinks and appetizers. I informed the hostess that the entire party has finally arrived. Now, there's a 20-25 minute wait for a table. At 7pm the have a live band play so, we enjoyed that. After about 15 minutes we were informed that our table was ready. We went to the booth and sat down. Our waitress was very attentive and precise. We ordered another pitcher of Margaritas and our food. I have the combination of 2 steak tacos and 2 beef enchiladas. Everyone ordered and we were on our way. The band came over to our table and played the Happy Birthday song for the tardy Birthday Girl. By now, we are feeling our drinks and having the best time ever. We get our soup, which was okay. I am not that fond of soup in a Mexican restaurant. It was chicken and noodles. It was on the watery side. I prefer my soups to be thick. I ate a little bit but for the most part no one really ate the soup. About 15 minutes later, our food arrived. It was hot and smelling good. Everything was prepared to our liking. Everyone was quiet and eating. This was the first visit for 4 of the people in the group. Everyone said their food was great! I refused to take anything home. I don't like reheated tacos. Three of the girls had doggy bags. Then 3 of us (on the picture below) ordered a shot of Tequila to wish a Happy Birthday to our girl. That sent us over the edge. We were officially drunk after that. The band came back over and sung Happy Birthday again. We had the best time ever at Lalo's. It's all that I remember and more. The girls say they had a fabulous time and want to go back. The food, service and drinks were great! Our waitress was very attentive to us considering we had a lot to drink. I would recommend this location to anyone, even couples. Yes, they are also kid friendly. Don't bring the kids if you are planning on having some Margaritas. Lalo's Margaritas are not for the weak. They pack a lot of punch! Be prepared. So, if you are looking for a Mexican Restaurant with everything to offer from good food to good music, this is your place. You will not regret your decision.

We chose this location because the one on Clybourn, where we usually go, is now under a different name. So we stuck with the name we know. In any event, this one is smaller, with perhaps less atmosphere. And on the night we went, the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. But when it got right down to the food and drink, we were as pleased as ever. One note: If you order a Margarita, and you don't specify "small", you'll get a huge, expensive one. Really good, but make sure there's a designated driver.

I was traveling for business and this resturant offered good service some wait. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was very inviting. Families with small children would love to dine here. I love the triple taco platter. Can't wait to stop by again.
