Two amazing nights. Staying at a suite, it is clear that no expense has been spared in the room design and furnishings. For those who appreciate fine dining, enjoying an evening at the restaurent is an absolute must. The highest quality food, drink, staff who take pride in their work, and what brings it all together; the sumptuous surroundings. This was continued into the breakfast where the staff managed a seamless service despite some ultra fussy guests. The grounds are fantastic and it is a worth a walk around the gardens followed by a drink in the luxurious lounges. Some guests will try to find anything to complain about; but that is difficult thing to do at The Grove! We hope to return next year!

On the lookout for a romantic weekend away, I came across The Grove and booked us in for two nights.
A beautifully peaceful location nestled in the countryside and a stones throw from Narbeth, on appearances alone it ticked the boxes.
We were checked in by Anna who was lovely, and so helpful and shown to our room -The Cresselly which was gorgeous, light, spacious yet cosy at the same time. We instantly felt relaxed and switched off it was a lovely atmosphere and so comfortable. The bathroom was AMAZING with a beautiful roll top bath and a very cool, separate rainfall shower. Pure indulgence.
The main building itself had a lot of character with plenty of nook and crannies to chill out in, by an open fire or in the conservatory. My partner and I attempted to play chess on a lovely chess table in the gallery. We felt so at home.
Breakfast was included and had a wonderful selection, of fresh and tasty options. I had the nicest pancakes I have ever tasted and we both loved the porridge.
There were plenty of lovely touches around and it felt like you were really valued as a guest, the attention to detail was second to none.
It’s without a doubt a fantastic hotel and we both can’t wait to stay again, you should try it too you won’t be disappointed!

A lovely hotel, super room, great food and wine and very pleasant attentive staff. It is not cheap but worth every penny for a really relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings. The room amenities were excellent.

We travelled here for a one night stay and booked ourselves in for dinner as well.

Checking in was fine apart from having been charged 64 GBP each in advance of the dinner we had not yet had or chosen.

We were shown to our room, good size and well decorated. Excellent shower and comfy bed.

Dinner was a farce. We were shown to our table eventually after complaining that it was nearly 21:00 and they were 25 minutes late in seating us. By this point we were rather hungry and very happy to receive their delicious bread. We chose à la carte rather than the tasting menu, and it took a long time to provide two starters and two main courses. At a fixed cost of 69 GBP per person for a starter, main course and dessert, our view was that the food was highly overpriced for what it was and certainly not worth the expenditure. If they are aiming for Michelin standards there is a lot of work to do in terms of improving service levels to the required seamless standard and kitchen organization to deal with à la carte orders and tasting menus needs significant improvement.

The wine list is disappointing with extremely high markups however we found a new Bordeaux that we had not yet tried and it was delicious.

Seating arrangements for both dinner and breakfast are very odd. Tables are set around the edge of the room and this seems to cause a rather curious staid, uncomfortable and unsettling atmosphere with diners at each table hesitatingly glancing around at each other and whispering.

Breakfast was excellent.

The grounds are beautifully kept.

The average score is on the basis of value for money, bearing in mind its location is in West Wales.

23rd to 25th March 2018. A 2 night stay booked through Secret Escapes - hence we paid half price. At that rate it was good value. I would not countenance paying the full rate though, which is more akin to what you'd pay for hotel accomodation in London. Our room - Preseli Loft - was in one of the cottages. Some steps outside and inside so not wheelchair friendly if that was an issue. Immaculately clean, Very comfortable bed and well equipped and nicely laid out bathroom. Breakfast was delicious too with a "starter" and then hot dishes on offer - all well cooked and very tasty...a good start to the day. Staff are very friendly and professional.
