“special and memorable”
Reviewed 7 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

i would definitely recommend staying there. It's charming, peaceful and unique. The rooms are themed in quirky individual ways.I stayed in the archeologist and would highly recommend it.For day-trips out there are many things close by such as the aqua park, adventure park, long walks, photo expeditions and more! The people there were delightful and were always ready to help and also knew lots of places to go near by. Overall i would definitely recommend it,i enjoyed my stay and i cant wait to come back for more incredible experiences!

“Cool Stay in a Medieval Themed 14th Century Manoir”
Reviewed 29 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We stayed here for two weeks in July 2016, as a base for exploring the area. This is a tastefully renovated 19th century Chateau and 14th century Manoir, a stunning property of 181acres in the heart of the Brittany countryside.
In addition to the extensive gardens, there are beautiful woodlands with walking trails. This property has the best of both worlds, being in the quiet countryside, yet close to the nearby towns and many attractions eg La Gacilly, Malestroit, Josselin, Redon, Vannes etc. We also went on day trips to St-Malo, Mont St Michel and Carnac. The medieval theme of Chateau Le Mur is super and there are artistic quirks and flair around every corner.
We were warmly welcomed by our hosts in their stunning Chateau and enjoyed a welcome drink, chat and guided tour. Our apartment was spacious, well equipped, comfortable and clean. Each apartment has its own individual theme too e.g. Archeologist, Gardener, Storyteller, Breton. The whole property is very tastefully decorated and has a genuine historic feel.
There are lots of seating areas outdoors and a useful BBQ area too. The Huntsman’s Lodge communal room is cool and quirky and a bonus addition to our own apartment.
We would recommend here for a family or couple looking for a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings. Looking forward to a return visit in the future!

“Best New Year's Ever!!”

Chateau Le Mur was a feast for the eyes, soul and spirit as we brought in 2013! The Chateau's palatial beauty inside and out is beyond description. We felt we had gone back in time to a castle in the middle ages! Eclectic and fun, colourful and comfortable, it is not an experience to be missed. As you wander around the property you'll discover cows, sheep, an orchard, a deep, dark enchanted forest and an ancient renovated manoir complete with rooms and a chapel. Every place you step has a different feel and a special story to tell. Fantastic!

“A sight to behold and time to relax”

We had the privilege of experiencing this amazing slice of countryside and were not disappointed, in fact, quite the opposite. It was so much better than the photos or words could describe!
The hospitality was amazing, Terry and Ernie were friendly, helpful and willing to help in whatever way we needed, whether it was running us into the local village or teaching us with a word of two of French we needed to order food.
As a runner, I enjoyed running through the woods, fields, orchards and surrounding roads. It was so peaceful and beautiful at that time of year (summer). We also sampled cider made from the apples from the orchard as well as daily fresh cow's milk.
During our stay we were taken into Renne to visit a bigger city as well as to the local village markets to sample local cuisine and crafts, both of which we loved. We also had the opportunity to use bikes provided for biking around the countryside and exploring that way.
The Chateau itself provided a spectacular setting to enjoy dinner on the balcony or in the large dining room. We were treated to many wonderful home cooked meals that used many ingredients from the farm, orchards and so on.
Overall our time was charming and we were so pleased to stay somewhere authentic and full of character.
