We had reserved this room both because of the location near the Parks Canada site and the superb prior reviews of Jenny and her partner. But Jenny has taken the year off and Wendy, a professional photographer, runs the place; she's also made it into a place to sell her photographs at the same time.

The location is still great, but be aware of some differences from the past:

1. The breakfast is now basically cold cereal (Cheerios, Rice Krispies), a plain baked/scrambled egg or oatmeal. With white or raisin toast (no whole wheat, no muffins as before). See menu photo - it's not the same as before.

2. There are no stories or songs as Jenny had. The host seems well-meaning but disorganized.

3. While the current host will give some guidance about the area if asked, local knowledge does not seem at the same level as described before.

4. Although she is probably a very good photographer, we didn't feel the same level of enthusiasm for running the B&B as hosts have at other places. It felt as if the B&B were a distraction from what she really wants to do - sell her photographs. Not that selling photographs is bad - it's just not the same set of skills required as running a top level B&B.

On the other hand, she was understanding when we had to change plans due to an Air Canada schedule change.

So it's still a very good location and clean, and nothing bad about the place. And if you are into photographs, all the ones on the wall seem well done and are for sale. But it's probably a little more like a middle level small hotel (think Comfort Inn) with limited breakfast rather than the rich experience you'll read about in prior reviews.

Wendy was wonderful host offering to wake us up if we wanted to see the rolling of the capelin. Unfortunately we were too early. Had a lovely room with a view of the ocean and a delicious breakfast with a number of different jams. Wendy even baked cookies the night before..

Wendy was a wonderful host. Her place was very comfortable and she added such thoughtful touches to her home. There were binoculars and flashlights so we could explore the nearby wilderness. Breakfast was homemade, delicious, filling and she provided so many great options! Would definitely be the place I choose to stay when I return to the area - would also want to stay longer here!
