My favorite winter dining experience in McCall. It's almost magical, from the snowshoe in to the candlelit yurt and amazing cuisine!

If you are looking for something different to do for dinner in McCall Idaho during the winter, then book now with the Blue Moon Outfitters for a wonderful evening that includes great food, a beautiful setting and a short hike on snowshoes to work off some of those calories. We went with the family over the Christmas holidays and had an evening to remember. My mother in-law is unable to walk any distance, so the hosts were able to get permission to ride her up to the Yurt on a snowmobile.
It is hard to describe what an amazing experience this is. Ski or snowshoe by tiki torch through Ponderosa State Park to a cozy yurt on the edge of Payette Lake and have the most incredible 4 course meal you've ever had. This place is completely off the grid and the food they put out is so delicious. It's hard to get a reservation so call early!
Blue Moon Yurt is located on the shore of Payette Lake in Ponderosa State Park. Open only during the winter snow season, the only way to access this beautiful place is by snowshoe, cross country ski or someone pulling you on a non motorized sled. You will be treateted to a five course, culinary delight! Lisa, the chef and her crew are amazing! All meals are a fixed price menu, worth every penny!
This is not for everyone due to cost (approx $100 +).
It's also a one mile walk in from parking lot to the dinner yurt.
You bring in your own adult beverages BUT,
the walk in and out is well lit with tiki torches and the
party starts when you put on your snowshoes or skis.
There is more great food than you can eat.
The menu changes throughout the winter so call to find
out what being serve and call plenty early to book a Rez.
They most often sellout especially on weekends and max seating is
about 26 and is communal on 3 tables.
Wizzie and her staff do an amazing job.
