This picturesque riverside cabin served as our home base for visiting the surrounding national and state parks as well as a short drive to view the Great American Eclipse farther south. With its eight-bedrooms, our family of thirteen had more than adequate space for privacy when needed. While there are four bathrooms in the house (three full baths and one without a shower/tube), two of the bathrooms are connected to individual rooms. A fourth shower would have been ideal to have, but we managed taking turns at night. The ground floor living quarters -- with its large kitchen, dining area, game room and a spacious lounge that overlooks the river -- served as an inviting and attractive family-gathering space. The downstairs porch facing the river offered a relaxing spot for reading, talking or just watching the lazy flowing river. Several of the upstairs rooms also have an outdoor deck. The cabin is loaded with all the amenities needed to run a home, such as kitchen appliances, utensils and laundry facilities. Our family enjoyed paddling the canoe and floating on the Buffalo River that winds along the rear of the cabin. We even saw a moose grazing in the river on our first evening. Under often clear evening skies, we lit a campfire or gazed at the stars and Milky Way. The cabin's over setting has a charm that invites you back for another stay.
The size of the house was perfect!
We were a large group of families with our eldest at their 80's and the youngest at 3. Our group also had different age groups -young kids; pre teens ; teenagers; middle age and the "oldies."
The home had activities for every age group. The loft was the kids' hang out place; pool table for the guys; tv room for the "oldies" and air hockey for the teens and pre-teens. The puzzles became the family activity while the women chatted.
It had all the amenities of home!
Breathtaking does not even come close to how beautiful the backyard is. The rainbow on one of the days added splendor to an already beautiful scenery.
The place was conveniently close to the west entrance to Yellowstone where Old Faithful geyser is located.
We would recommend this place for families who want to spend quality time together while enjoying the splendor of nature.
We had a wonderful family reunion. Room for everyone, the cabin was spotlessly clean. We used the river ( just a few yards away) to wade, fish, float, canoe and just relax in front of at night. We'll be back :)
