The City Park and beach in Coeur d'Alene is simply lovely. The flowers and plantings are so attractive, and you can't beat the setting next to beautiful Coeur d'Alene Lake. We probably would have enjoyed more time there if we had gone on a week day. On a Saturday, the park was busier than we would like.

The city has several paid parking lots nearby. The signage is easy to miss, so be on the lookout for it.

I have loved this lake since I was a kid. Now I take my kids. When you can't make it over to the coast and you need a beach experience, this fills the bill. Offered experiences from dockside include para sailing, seaplane flights, cruises and paddleboats. If you go on a Sunday, as we were this time, the adjacent park has music in the pavilion with food vendors right there. They have a public shower off area to get the beach pebbles off you before leaving. The beach pebbles sticking to you may be the only reason I put 4 stars vs. 5 stars. Don't forget to utilize the pay parking on the other side of the park. Super easy; first hour is free, then a buck an hour or $5 for the day. Love you Coeurdalene!

The Independence Point City Dock parasailing and kayak reservations staff, captain and crew were all very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the parasailing and kayaking on beautiful Lake CDA. Thank you!

There is also a wonderful park adjacent to the dock with a clean and safe beach.

Great thing about this beach is the scenery and the location. It's right next to the resort and the main shopping stretch on Sherman Ave.
Other than a few weeks in late Spring when the pollen is in full bloom and the shoreline turns a little yellow, it's always clean and usually pretty uncrowded. The little park behind the beach is spacious and both offer great views of the mountains and the Cougar Gulch area across the lake.
Nice spot for a picnic lunch and plenty of places to walk to.
