We had a most enjoyable breakfast at Chapels on Whatley. It is a quirky venue and brought back memories of past travels (it has been too long!!) and created some friendly chatter between our table and our host. We were all travellers anxious to get back on the road or in the air again. The choice of dishes was extensive and interesting with an over-riding Asian influence in many; why settle for bacon and eggs when you can explore other less common flavours. Those who wanted coffee had coffee, and those who wanted tea were spoiled for choice. The teapots were well filled so we embarked on a limited tea tasting which added to the enjoyment of the experience. We found the staff most helpful when called upon; we are quite happy to entertain ourselves as long as our requests for service are met in a reasonable time and satisfactory fashion; both were the case on this occasion. We will return.
Prices were reasonable which mean you may have a few dollars left to purchase some of the interesting teas etc. on sale. A visit to Chapels increased my wish to get back on a plane asap!

I was one of five ladies who went for High Tea yesterday to celebrate a birthday.
We had all previously been to Chapels only a couple of weeks ago and had such a wonderful time that we decided to return.

The venue, presentation and food was lovely however unlike the previous visit, yesterday we were told that coffee was not included in the $49 charge so we would have to pay for all coffees. After mentioning that coffee was included last time, the young lady, we believe, indicated that three of us could have one coffee each, included in the $49. We asked to speak to the manager, but was told that he was not available.

The tea ladies, who on the previous visit were able to have their own individual tea of choice, were told that they had to share the same pot of tea, which was very disappointing.

As we were about to leave, one of the staff who appeared to be in charge, insisted that we had to pay for the three coffees that we had ordered, insisting that we had misunderstood. Again, the manager was not available.

Nowhere on the website does it say that only tea is included in the cost. Every other High Tea that I've been to, and there have been many, includes coffee.

Needless to say, for sake of three coffees, we will not be returning for a third visit!!

Nowhere does it state coffee is included ! We clearly list what you receive as part of our offer which far exceeds any of our competitors at this price
I would also like to remind you we are in the midst of a pandemic and small business's are struggling to service you and your group are totally trying to take advantage of this.
OMG how absolutely disappointing! On your first visit I personally gave a couple of your group a coffee on the house. To expect this and feel initialed to have what you please that is not included in the offer is shameful.
Yourself working in our cities information and service kiosk I assume paid for by our city one would think you would have a grasp on how retail and hospitality works
How rude!

The same group of friends returned to Chapels after their wonderful first experience of High Tea. On both occasions the food was delicious and plentiful and the table looked beautiful.

However, when we returned today, unlike the first occasion, we were told that we couldn't order coffee, only tea. If anyone wanted coffee, they would have to pay for it on top of what they'd already paid for the High Tea. Three of our group only drink coffee, and of the other two, one only drinks herbal tea, and the other only black tea. However, we were told we could only order one type of tea.

This was a mean and penny-pinching approach, although the waitperson finally reneged and allowed three coffees (she initially offered that only one person at the table could order coffee), but still only one type of tea. After our first experience when the choice between tea and coffee was not limited, today's experience really changed our perception of the restaurant to the extent that it's unlikely that we will go there again.

To the Manager, I beg to differ with your response to reviews “DO NOT GO”and “DISAPPOINTED” from last Monday. I was the 3rd person at the table. We were at our table for 50 Minutes (10am - 10.50am) before we were asked to leave - NOT 90 minutes as you stated in your response. Also the menu was plonked on our table by a waitress walking past and we were never asked if we would like to order something from it. You stated we were asked many times which was not the case. I will not be returning to your restaurant.

For a ‘tea’ house, this place makes the best coffee on the strip! High teas look sensational so a girls get together is being planned!
