Whatever you fancy, your taste buds are sure to be tickled at this Callaway Gardens institution. Meals are not served between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. as the kitchen switches the line from breakfast to lunch/dinner.

The food was very good and the prices were very reasonable! We enjoyed the gift store too! The view of the mountains while dining was amazing! We will visit again! The breakfast is just as amazing as lunch! A very picturesque restaurant!

The Country Kitchen is slightly removed from the main Gardens complex but only by about a mile. And the reason is probably due to the fantastic panoramic vistas at this location.

The Kitchen is also a gift shop featuring homemade jellies and preserves, souvenirs, etc. Then there is the restaurant. Part of the dining room is on a climate controlled observation deck with yet another beautiful view of the valley.
TIP: Callaway Gardens has a couple of restaurants. So if the others are packed, check out the Kitchen.
Food (typical Southern fare) and service have always been great for us. You can’t go wrong. Don’t forget to take your camera.

Friendly environment, good selection of tradition country dishes, well prepared and not overly expensive. Four of us had Chicken Pot Pie, Fried Chicken, Hamburger Steak, Side Dish Sampler, Lima Beans, Collard Greens, Black Eye Peas, and more. All were very good and ample portions. Waitress was pleasant but disappeared after giving us checks - had to track her down to pay. But, overall a great experience!

We ate here a few years back and I wrote a great review following our visit because we were so impressed with the food, quality, price and taste. Today...not so much! It was terrible! Walked in at 5:45 and was told by the rude check-in girl that it would be about 30 min to be seated. An hour and a half later, we finally got a table. The service was VERY slow but we can handle that because he was making an effort but the quality and taste...was just awful. Two of us ordered the fried okra and fried green tomatoes and for the life of me I have never seen sorrier examples of fried green tomatoes in my life. They were literally unrecognizable and tasted like they had been refried at least 6-8 times. They were little lumps of GREASY, over-fried cornmeal in a bowl. My daughter’s was 3 small chunks all stuck together that looked like a grease ball. The okra also looked and tasted refried a few times...so hard that you didn’t want to even try to eat them. I posted a pic of what was supposed to pass for tomatoes, absolutely unacceptable. We won’t go back. So disappointed, as this was one of the reasons we were looking so forward into going back to see the Callaway Christmas lights.

We walked in & saw the hostess looking out the window, ignored for about 5 minutes. Hubby ask about seating, hostess says let me see if we have a table. There were only 2 couples in the entire restaurant, so we saw lots of empty tables. The hostess had us "wait here' for another 5 or so mins while she talked with another employee. Finally seated we wait for our order to be taken....10 or so minutes pass and another couple is seated behind us. The server walks past us, welcomes the new ones and proceeds to take their order. She then walks past us again and never acknowledged our presence. We walked out and no one said a word to us. Therefore I do believe we are invisible........Will not return.
