Our group come here every year, and they always have upgrades of everything which is always good.
The rooms are more elegant now.
I just wish they will add different menu on the breakfast.

FIRST OFF Air-condition sound like a M1 Abrams Tank running through the room each and every time in came on.
Grown people acting like teenagers at 3;00 AM
the smell of Marijuana at 4;00 AM
Bathroom sink clogged
Shower door would not stay closed during shower
Barn door on bathroom

We arrived on a Sunday to pull-thru site 40 in Campground 2. We thought it was weird that we were the only campers in campground 2! We learned later that day, from a Camp Host, that campground 2 was ‘closed’ while they are building a new bathhouse (badly needed). The bathhouse is old and the one shower that was functioning was nasty – worst I have ever seen at a campground. One of the two toilets in Men’s room was inoperable and they never replenished the toilet paper in the 4 days we were there.
We were called by State Park personnel the day before our arrival for payment, and they never mentioned campground 2 being ‘closed’ or the construction of a new bathhouse. We spoke to two other campers who were walking their dogs near us they were told to switch to another campsite With that said, we didn’t mind the privacy of being the only one in campground 2. Site 40 is relatively level, not much shade, and all gravel. We had a fire pit (camp host sells firewood for $5 a bundle) and picnic table.
We thought there was wifi at the campground sites, but there is not. However, we were informed – by Camp Host - that internet could be used in the Lodge lobby area. The Lodge lobby area is open 6am-midnight. Cable TV: They have more cable TV channels than anywhere we have been, there must be 70 channels. Cell phone service was fine.
We’ve rarely had interaction with campground Hosts, but the Hosts here were very visible, friendly, and helpful. Even though we were in the ‘closed’ section, they came by our site at least twice a day.
There is a nice lake with a small beach; golf course; volleyball; hiking trails; splash pad; pool; Lodge and restaurant (that was open for breakfast and lunch Sunday-Wednesday)
The Park was very clean and we would stay here again if in the area (would not make this a destination stop).

The lodge room I was in was clean and well-appointed, hosekeeping visited every day to refresh. Staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The park is peaceful and beautiful, great, well-marked trails, dispersed picnic facilities, lovely exeperience. Good restaurants nearby, particularly Hooky's, which has a to-go low country boil that muct be experienced. Delightful area.
