This cottage has it all! If you are looking for a relaxing get away from the busy-ness of your every day life and you want to bring along your doggie companions, this is the place for all of you. The location is breath taking with mountain views and a picturesque creek burbling outside the door, not to mention plenty of running room for your dogs to enthusiastically enjoy. The area has lots to offer for side trips, but nothing beats a day by the creek with a good book. This host has thought of everything, literally just bring your clothes, groceries and a mind to relax and you will not be disappointed!
We had a wonderful weekend at the cottage. We've stayed at some nice cabins and condos, but not only was the cottage nice, it's decorated to make you feel at home. There's plenty of open outside area for the dogs to enjoy themselves, and the cottage has the right mix of coziness and spacious areas to stay busy inside (which was great because the weather didn't cooperate like we hoped). Terri has furnished the cottage with the essentials, and even extra things in case you may have forgotten to bring something (bug spray, wet shoes for the creek, and even a float to use!). The crafting area was a nice touch for the front room, and book and movie lovers will be happy to see plenty of options to pass the time. If you're looking for a good place to bring the four-legged kids, it's perfect. They have lots of space to run, and lay around. We hope to come back when the weather is cooler, so that we can enjoy the fire pit and fireplace. Terri even checked in to make sure we were satisfied with the cottage. Thank you again!
Where to start? My husband and I never vacation in the same spot - too many other places to see. However, before we left VCC, we had booked 7 days in the fall, and before we unpacked, we had tied on an additional 4 days. The serenity of the cottage is truly a dream come true. It's pet friendly, and our 21 month old, chocolate lab had the time of her short life, chasing balls and frisbees in the fields. The highlight, frankly for all of us, was the creek! Once discovered, we couldn't keep our pup on dry land!! Our host has lots of bird feeders on property, and the variety of birds is amazing. It's located in an area that affords lots of things to do in short distances, but we returned home feeling that we really missed just spending time at the cottage. Normally, I prefer to eat out, it is a vacation after all, but found I really just wanted to stay on property and grill on the deck or fix something in the kitchen, that lacked nothing. We met some of the neighbors, very friendly but not intrusive. An automatic feeder releases food that feeds the trout in the creek - a sight to see, especially when area ducks can tell time, and are there at 5:30 every day for dinner. And our host - graciously answered every text before, during, and after our visit, in most cases, almost immediately. To be honest, I feel like I have a new friend in her. We are still in touch with every day happenings. She is such a joy! If you are in need of a relaxing vacation, away from the exhausting reality of today's life, check out the Valley Creek Cottage......we absolutely loved it!!!!
Terri, is the perfect hostess. The cottage is a beautifully restored Georgia home. The room appointments are perfect and the creekside views to die for. The local historic community of Ellijay is a nice experience from our modern cities. Lots of quaint little shops and great eateries. Local parks are close by and offer some interesting hiking challenges. The cottage is set up for pet owners and while we didn't bring our dog, there was no traces of previous pets. You will find treats, pick up bags for your pets, bowls, and leashes. Don't miss this diamond in the countryside. One level for those that need it. Loved it!
