This is a great restaurant. The entire menu is vegetarian but that should not be a deterrent. You won't miss it with all of the choices. The only downside is that service is not consistent and they don't really tell you what is coming out in terms of sauces/dips so be assertive and ask. Each Dosai is different. The cheese one was nothing special but some of the others are good. It is not their strongest point. All said, it is a great deal and good food.

Good hotel and food is good and spread is wide and suites all. Staff of course are tight lipped and too business like for comfort. Management better keep window shades open during day time for natural lighting and brightness..

Even though this Indian restaurant has been in this location for many years, we hadn't visited lately, but large appetites and serendipity made this the perfect spur of the moment dinner choice.
I remembered they featured dosai, large, crisp thin rice and lentil flour crepes filled with an amazing variety of vegetable, potato and paneer (Indian cheese) choices and surrounded by chutneys and sambar bowls. We were wanted to avoid lots of fried food, and there were many great choices that made that possible. We ordered a Cilantro Masala Dosai, which contained seasoned mashed potato with cilantro and bowls of sambar and delicious chutneys.
We also ordered Kohlapuri Misal Pav a dish layered with flavors of sprouted bean curry, with crispy chick pea noodles, savory sauce, and dinner rolls. We had never come across dinner rolls in an Indian restaurant and didn't eat them. This was one of the tastiest Indian creations I have ever eaten.

The food at Madras Mantra is outstanding. Don't be put off by its surroundings (an old shopping center now being renovated with a big Goodwill store.) you'll be very happy you went once you're inside.

I had family coming over from Wisconsin. This places is changed under new mgmt for better. Chef Ram is excellent. Food was good, service was good. They had a buffet but I prefer their south Indian food. Good experience like.
