Unfortunately this time there was a problem with the booking agency that we used. The desk clerk was amazing and worked with me the entire 90 minutes that it took to resolve. The true measure of a hotel is when there IS a problem!

We were conflicted about staying here because of mixed TA reviews, but the price was right and allows cats. Howard Johnson is a tired brand, but iconic. With the Wyndham name behind it, we thought we’d try. The first impression at 9 pm was warm and welcoming...cute white building, very well lighted and tucked in front of lots of mature trees. I am not a fan of motor courts where the door opens to the outside, but we just needed a place to sleep, so I dealt with it.
Interior design is odd...bedspread, curtains, carpet and chair fabric doesn’t have a complementary color theme. Door not completely sealed...light comes through corners, which allows for insects to enter. Microwave timer made a clicking noise, so unplugged that. Sink stopped up- the whole plug apparatus was broken...never drained. (Reported to front desk.) Couldn’t even pry it with a fork. Had to spit toothpaste in the toilet and wash hands in bathtub because sink was full. Water was never fully hot...had to run a while to get it warm. Didn’t even attempt a shower. Ick. Sheets felt stiff, not tucked in and loose on bed. Spider crawling in the cat box. Straw wrapper from another guest beside bed, behind bureau. This is a shoes on kind of place. Breakfast was mostly carbs- they did have boiled eggs. Nostalgic Howard Johnson posters in lobby. $101 per night with pet fee. Will not stay here again.

I travel to Dalton, Ga a lot for my business and have been staying at this hotel for over 12 years. I have never had any security issues or other problems. The rooms are clean and modern. Location is good. Plenty of restaurants close by. It does not back up to the expressway, so you don't hear trucks all night long. Quiet and safe

Typical low-end road side motel. Like an Econo Lodge. The room has the old style AC unit that never gets the room cool enough. I slept well enough. The hotel was old, but the room seemed clean relative to other cheap road-side motels. Most motels like this are a bit old and dirty.
