We were staying at the nearby Fairfield Plantation Resort, and told that this was one of the best BBQ places in the area. The restaurant is adjacent to a gas station in a triangle between three roads, a modest building with smokers and ovens outside. The food, however, was not modest!
Almost everything is cooked in-house, and all the BBQ was gluten-safe - a blessing for someone with celiac disease. Unfortunately, the ribs were all gone and so we settled for a "small" plate of pulled pork with fries, and a plate of BBQ beef knuckle with beans and potato salad. The meat was beautifully cooked, although the Georgia BBQ sauce took a little getting used to - it is a vinegar-based sauce, quite different from the tomato-based sauces to which I am used. The small plate was a perfect size for my wife, while I took about half of the beef away for later. The prices were also modest!
A perfect place to visit for simple BBQ in the Villa Rica / Carrolton area.
