This hotel is great--large room with kitchenettes and a balcony right on the beach. Our room was clean, the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and the tiki bar. So many restaurants and bars close by, you can't even believe it. Would definitely stay here again.

Pro con list... Cons: The room is not ultramodern and the staff is not courteous (they were not outright mean, but if you were selecting a property for friendly service, you would never consider this property). The parking required the lot across the street so getting to and from the car involved darting runs across a busy 4 lane road. If you need beach towels on day of check out, you have to threaten to walk across the lobby dripping wet for them to see it as a mutually beneficial idea to then give them to you.

Not quite pros, but livable: The luggage carts are helpful if you can get one (we didn't have success on the way in, but did on the way out.) The elevators are pretty good and there was never a big crowd waiting but they are a little tight. The room was not dirty - it was mostly clean feeling but in their defense, it is a beachside inn, and everyone is trekking sand in there and stuff gets wet, etc. The AC worked but was noisy and uni-directional. The closet had descent space but the doors didn't quite slide back and forth. The appliances, rug, fixtures, etc were sooooo not new but all worked. The pull out couch gave an extra bed but asking for sheets and then a blanket for it, you'd have thought I was going to pull off their toenail. I asked to extend check out and they said no. Then they said 30 minutes, then they forgot they said 30 minutes. Then they remembered they said 30 minutes, then Housekeeping came early anyway and had to go check with the desk again - not totally on their game but no harm done - just annoyance.

Pros: The location was great - nice beach, great distance to the room! The guy washing the deck and managing the outdoor area in the back was very nice. Good choice of food in the area (short drive or loooooong walk) - Sloppy Joe's up the road had great food. The artwork on the wall in the room gave it a little lift. The balcony view rocked! The SUNSET WAS AWESOME!

My sister and I only stayed one night at this hotel but we would have liked to stay longer. Every room has a balcony, some with a beach view, some with a bay view. The room was clean and was a typical sized hotel room (ours was room #420) with the addition of a 'kitchen' which well stocked - sink, 2 burner stove, microwave and a full size fridge and had plenty of plates, cups, silverware, etc. We had a bay view room but since the hotel is directly on the beach that did not matter. They do have a pool and a pool bar/restaurant but we didn't make it to those. The guests also have access to kayaks and stand up paddle boards - for free! I'm not exactly sure what the laws are about having alcohol on the beach there but it was great because no one cared what you had - they even had a trash can out there to dispose of bottles/cans that was regularly emptied by the guy that rented out the beach chairs/umbrellas. There are also trolley stops right out in front of the hotel to get you anywhere else around the area (I do suggest printing out their schedule off the internet and getting exact change for it!). The staff here was pleasant and gave us a 30% discount off a future stay upon checkout! I go to the St. Pete area frequently and had already planned on staying at this hotel again so the 30% discount was a bonus! The only thing that I can say that is negative is the guy who checked us in wasn't very talkative. He gave us our parking pass but neglected to mention if you couldn't find a spot right outside/under the hotel that they also have a lot directly across the street with plenty of room. We snagged a spot in front of the hotel just as someone was leaving and only saw the other lot once we were in our room.

While the hotel doesn't look much from the road, I rented from an owner and had a fantastic room. Was given the a cold shoulder at first from property management - perhaps because I had rented from the owner. Oh well. Got a good deal - $765 tax incl for 9 nights. Not bad in my mind considering, as all the rooms here offer, the balcony is looking over the beach and the Gulf - you can't get any closer. Pros: Overall a good experience, as we enjoyed the beautiful beach, pool, tiki bar next to the pool as well as the kitchen in the room. The balcony was perfect! The very busy areas of the beach are both north and south, so you can walk to see all the activities but it isn't busy in front of the Inn at all. The Inn is quite quiet... except for our last night and overall weekends are busier. Cons: No security that we were aware of - on last night there was a fuss next door that had us awake all night and concerned. Parking can be a bit of a pain as some days you have to park in a lot across the street. There is a small public parking area next to building and many people park there and then proceed to use the pool and facilities which I was not impressed with. Security was my issue and after experiencing the last night I would stay in a gated resort next time but that is just how I like to travel - overall this is still a lovely place.

Room Tip: 50/50 Recommend for inexpensive getaway!

We only live about an hour away but have stayed here several times for long weekends. We have not had any problems in any of the rooms we have gotten. The rooms are spacious and include a full sized fridge, sink, double burner and coffee maker. It is not a fancy hotel and the rooms are not the most modern but if you are looking to stay somewhere quiet with a great view of the gulf at a reasonable price this place should do the trick. There is not too much in walking distance but there is a grocery store and restaurants within a few miles.
