This was a first time for me and the service and food was as if they had me over for dinner. I went early so there wasn't a lot of people there but the food was phenomenal. I also had one of the drinks that is like a refreshing tea. Yummy!!!

Two friends of mine and I were going to lunch and one recommend this place. In a strip mall that looks a little run down but it is worth the stop. Very friendly service with delicious food. Very quaint and nice. I will definitely go back for lunch or dinner. For a lunch it was fast but relaxing. They have a great tea. The yucca fries are wonderful and so we're our meals. I don't remember the name but I got the Peruvian rice and beef...my friend got the chicken and noodles and my other friend got the skirt steak, salad and rice. I tried theirs and it was amazing and mine was very wonderful too. I like to trying new things cause I get tired of the same old thing...I can't wait to go back!!

I usually find that the writers for TA provide good information on a restaurant, and based on being rated # 1 in Temple Terrace, and being Peruvian, something we don't have tremendous experience with, we decided to check it out. No regrets there. It isn't often I can claim what I regard as a perfect restaurant meal, but this place qualified. From our entry at about 4 pm on a Friday, where we were greeted by the wife/co-owner who made pleasant small talk about the restaurant, Peruvian food and things in general. She made us feel welcome and at home. She is Colombian, and her husband, the cook, I presume, is Peruvian. We seemed to be the first customers of the evening crowd, but the place was about a third full when we left at about 5:30. We got a booth at the window. Above us, pleasant, and I assume, Peruvian music, played at a reasonable volume that did not interfere with our conversation. I ordered a grilled Brazilian steak, this came with a salad with house dressing, and I had the potato cake (sort of a lasagna like mix of layers of potato and cheese and pleasant mild spices) as my side. At first this meal appeared a bit shy on quantity, I suppose because of the large platter on which it was served. It turned out to be, actually, all that I needed to satisfy me, and left just enough room for the coconut flan (kind of like a one inch thick bed of shredded coconut with just enough flan added to hold it together) and coffee with milk. I asked for the steak to be medium and, in spite of it being two thin cuts of steak, it came to me exactly as requested, a perfect medium. And at the end I was full, but not overstuffed. All of the food was excellent and there were two sauces provided as an accompaniment to the food, those were also excellent. When I asked for lime for my water, I got it, and they asked if I needed more. The food came to us in short order, probably about 10 minutes. Service was excellent, even though the wife/co-owner had to leave after she served us our main platter, her son served us after that, his service was also pleasant and quite acceptable. The restaurant and the men's room appeared clean, and they have paper towels, no screaming jet engine hand dryers in the restroom.
My wife also loved her food. She got the flank steak rare, which was tasty, but not quite as tender as my Brazilian, being a leaner cut. she also got the tostones, and her platter also came with a salad, she finished with an espresso. The coffee was very strong and very good. My wife also had the Peruvian drink made from purple corn. She liked it a lot, but not being a fan of cloves, I could pass on that. The bill ended up being a bit less than I would have expected for such a complete and satisfying meal.
If we are ever in this part of Tampa again, I am hoping this excellent restaurant will still be here, so that we may partake of it once again. We can wish, if only wish. I'm hoping my perfect meal was not a random occurrence, as I do feel a little trepidation suggesting that a restaurant is perfect based on only one visit; but given the excellent reviews on TA, I'm presuming our experience was not random or unique. Only a mile south of the SE corner of USF on 56th St., in a little strip mall, next to Five Star Pizza, on the west side of the road just before you reach Whiteway Dr., assuming you are headed south on 56th from Fowler Ave.

We were visiting Tampa Bay and was looking for something different to try for dinner. We searched Trip Advisory and found this restaurant. This a cozy place and the staff is very friendly. The waitress explained all about how the food is cooked, etc. We order the Meat Combo with a fresh delicious salad, yucca root n potatoe cake.
Great Food n Service. If your wanting some good Peruvian food this is a great place!!

OUTSTANDING! I felt like I was in both Peru and Chile....the Andean music perfect for the ambience...the Ceviche delictable! The Skirt Steak cooked to perfection with just the right amount of condiments and flavour to take your mind "swimming in aromas" of a Lima kitchen....the hospitality was warm and kind...I for one will be returning on my next visit to Tampa....
