This is a good place to go after a movie at CineBistro. I love the music - Sinatra and Bennett - and the food is delicious.

The experience was okay. I had a good time. Good atmosphere and the drinks were pretty good. However, the waiter decided to give himself an extra $10 tip on my bill above what I tipped him. When I called to complain, I was assured it would get fixed. That didn't happen. I had to go to my credit card company to dispute the charge. That was far too much of a hassle to give it a good review.

I'll start with sharing the challenges we had just trying to make a reservation. They aren't on open table and when we called several times there was no answer. We left a message with a request for reservations and a call back but never received one. Finally, after several more calls someone picked up and took our reservation. We arrived with friends and were seated inside. Most of the inside seating is closed due to renovations which are still underway. I was confused why they were still renovating since the restaurant was closed for several months following Ceviche moving out. They are renovating the main dinning room which means very limited seating options. Sitting inside means you are bombarded by very loud dance music which really spoils any mood, the lighting is so low you can't read the menus at all. Everyone had out their phones using them as flashlights, so you are screwed if you didn't bring one. Here is the confusing part while the restaurant facilities are horrible the Tapas we ordered was really tasty. One complaint was that we ordered the clams and chorizo with tomato sauce and were provided with one crostini for 4 people.. When I asked for more bread I was told they didn't have bread but would bring more crostini's ..after 3 more requests and one server saying the have no bread service the crostini appeared. You have to have bread to dunk into the sauce..how chintzy not to provide it. The sangria was good. There is a sign out front that says "Voted best restaurant", by who? The owner? As the evening moved along the interior seating by the bar and dance floor turned into a disco, talk about crushing any pleasurable dinning experience - we left as soon as we could, vowing not to return. This was a huge disappointment and a major bummer to have this place replace Ceviche...thankfully Ceviche didn't move too far away. Hopefully owner Gordon Davis will correct this travesty of a fine dining.

Never before have I been so shocked by the service and food. Food was delivered to table guests up to one hour apart. Wine list looked good but they didnt have any of it in stock. The manager, Steve, said he was too busy to hear our complaint. When pressed for a anticdote, he said he did not care. What an awful evening.

Imagine as a Daughter planning a Birthday Party for your Mother, including close to 25 of her nearest and dearest friends on a Saturday night in Tampa in an area considered by some to be an upscale and popular location. Imagine as guests arrive the location is not able to accommodate the complete party to sit in the same dining area, even though a party # had already been provided in advance. Parts of Tampa were under a mandatory Boil Water order due to a power failure Friday afternoon. This location was in the Boil Water Order area. Imagine as you arrive to the table the busboy begins to poor you water, you confirm with the busboy the location is under the Boil Water Order, you ask "where is that water from?" The busboy replies, we use filtered watered. All notices from the City Of Tampa stated, filtered water does not suffice, it needs to be boiled. You then ask for bottled water which is provided. Imagine seeing many many guests with poured filtered water at their tables. Imagine it taking 20 minutes for a waiter to arrive at your table just to take your drink order, there was no wait at this establishment at the time of arrival. Imagine, a "poorly" lit entrance, dining area, so bad, you are barely able to see the steps leading to the dining area. Imagine a menu in which the print font is so small along with the "poor" lighting; you have to ask the waiter for a flashlight in order to read it. Imagine meals for this party coming out separately, out of order, cold, entrees before appetizers, incorrect. Imagine the growing frustration as this all continues throughout the night. Imagine a team of servers not happy, food runners not happy, all quite obvious based on facial expressions. Imagine restrooms appearing they had not been attended to all day long. Imagine now, due to all these conditions, the guests of the party not wanting to stay any longer to dance, continue the festivities, even with a DJ playing good dance music. Imagine receiving checks which were inaccurate. Imagine for literally a half hour, the organizer of the party, other guests wanting to speak to management to express their concerns and share feedback only to have the servers advise the General Manager Steve is not able to speak to them because he is too busy. Imagine a guest literally planting himself at the kitchen doors, pleading with the staff to speak to management (which is what I did). Imagine a General Manager finally coming out from behind closed doors, barely taking the time to listen to the feedback, being made aware that multiple requests had been made for a 1/2 hour for his attention, only to be told he was dealing with printer issues for tickets, meanwhile I and all others in the party, had printed tickets, not handwritten tickets as he claimed. Imagine, ultimately through the rushed, ineffective conversation, after requesting the General Manager Steve multiple times to at least address the issue with the guests and merely apologize, the response is "no, I don't care" and literally walks away back into the kitchen. Imagine, following up with the servers to confirm the General Manager’s name and now as guest, apologizing to the servers and staff for the "leadership" they lack in the establishment and how that lack of care and concern places their livelihoods in jeopardy based on a lack of care, concern, and willingness to engage guests which are not satisfied. Imagine the guests of the party not wanting to get out of the establishment fast enough. Imagine the guests outside, appalled how the evening had turned out and the mood and temperament not being one as if a fun, eventful, momentous birthday celebration had just taken place. Imagine the Valet Service being the BEST service provided all night, and the Valet attendants being more professional and courteous than the GENERAL MANAGER Steve. Imagine the establishment is Samba Room @ 1502 South Howard Avenue in Tampa. I personally will never go their again, despite apparent changes being made based on hearing some of the staff mentioning. Oh and the Website is horrible. Samba is a symbol of Brazil and the Brazilian Carnival, the operation and leadership of this establishment makes it seem more like a circus.
