Owner description: Do you see yourself looking over the vast Serengeti plains, searching the horizon for a glimpse of a pride of Lions, or a Leopard lounging in the trees? Do you imagine yourself in India, riding an elephant through the high grass with your eyes peeled for the elusive Tiger? Have you ever thought how great it would be to hike through the rainforest, listening to the tropical birds, ever on the lookout for a Leopard or an Ocelot high in the canopy? Have you ever been to the zoo and wanted to be closer to the exotic cats; so close you could almost touch them? You don't have to spend tens of thousands of dollars to make these dreams come true. The world's largest accredited big cat rescue facility is right here in Tampa, Florida at Big Cat Rescue.

Took the grandkids on the Saturday Kids Tour and all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The tour guide was very informative in terms of the many cats we saw including their origin, how they came to be at the sanctuary and the roles of the many interns and volunteers caring for the animals. They had numerous large cats (lions, tigers, mountain lion and panthers, leopards...) as well as the smaller varieties (servils, bobcats, lynx...).
It was an interesting and educational hour well spent.

The work being done by this organization is well worth the admission price. Several Large Cats are living in the best place of their lives. The tour guide gives lots of information and each cats personal history is shared. The big cats will live out the rest of their lives with dignity and respect.

Came over Chistmas vacation. It was CRAZY with the amount of people who were visiting at the same time as us. We waiting for about 20 minutes in a car line just to check in. We were led around by a volunteer. There was an audio tour which told us about the different animals. At the end, there was a big push to get the visitors to text or call their local politicians to encourage legislation about big cats. I felt very pressured to do this too. Left with an uncomfortable feeling.

I'm sorry you felt pressured, but imagine how horrible it is for wild cats to be bred for life in prison? Ending the trade in them as pets, props and parts is our mission and making sure our guests understand how important their voices are for the cats is the main reason for being open at all.

A lot of really beautiful animals. Very educational tour. Worth the money. A few animals wouldn't come out but still got to see a lot of big cats.
