Two days ago, we passed through this place. A nice friendly girl, Evelina, she, explaining to us thoroughly the whole process of making the fine Melnik wine as well as their wine cellars. She showed us the incredible stunning view that is revealed from this place. Finally we had to choose wine from the rich wine stand. The girl was glad to explain the characteristics and history of each type of wine so our choice was easy.
I recommend this place to everyone who appreciates good wine and unforgettable views.

After celebrating the wine festival in Melnik, me and my family decided to go to Villa Melnik, following recommendation of the locals. First of all, that was great experience because we saw how they make the wine, they explained us the different processes in making wine, the scenery was great and the people were very friendly, very talkative and extremely knowledgeable about wine.

Second, the wine was absolutely great and I can say that it competes with wines that I tasted in France, Germany, Portugal and Holland. My recommendation for wine is: Orange Wine (a price winning one), Mavrud (red wine), Shardonnay Sur Lie (white with a great smell and taste). However when you go there, you will try them all, and you will be offered different wines according what you want so you can choose.

We left the Villa, bying 17th bottles for me, my mother, uncle and aunt. I took 6 bottles with me to holland, and happily pay for extra luggage, since the prices were very reasonable. The Highest I paid was Mavrud - 9 EUR and the wine is extraordinary.

I've been to many wine tastings and it's easy to tell when the exhibitor is only working and when there's passion involved, which is this case. I highly recommend (if you like complex and strong wines) to taste their beautiful Chardonnay aged in oak barrels and their Merlot reserve paired with local cheese and meat. I regret not asking the name of the young lady who guided us through the winery, very professional and wine enthusiast! Thanks for the experience!
